Quote  |  Reply

Heyyyy All =D

I've decided to start this Post so that we can share out weight loss tips with each other. Even though I've been on a weight loss program for about 5 months I can sure still use some helpful tips =D. It pretty much can be anyting at all. Anything from excercise tips to healthy foods that you like to eat! Instead of looking all over for tips we can just write them down here. So feel free to share anything =D

My diet tip is: Plan your day ahead of time. I like to plan out what I'm going to eat the day before. It keeps me from overeating the next day :D

By the way you can write as many tips as you want :D The more the merrier!!!

I have to tell myself,"that something fattening does not taste any better after the first bite." And it's true.

1) "I'll start tomorrow" is not an excuse, it's a cop out.

2) Just TRY it, the worst that can happen is that you'll go to bed hungry for one night.

3) To most people in the world, the concept of having to restrain ourselves from eating is a absurd. Eating liberally and nutritiously is a privlidge, we should respect that.

4) The ex (or exes).

5) You're only going to be (fill in age here) once, you might as well make it look as good as you can.

6) Never underestimate the combined power of oatmeal and apples.

eat fish

T may sound stupid. But I wake up early (4:30am) for swim practice, and then go to school, get home, do homework, have dinner, and by that time am so tired i don't stay up late which is normaly when i eat too much

Wow crd084, your day sounds so long!!! Makes mine sound short lol...

My diet tip: Look at the big picture.  Ignore the day-to-day changes on your scale, because not every day is going to be lower than the one before.  If they freak you out, weigh once a week, or once every two weeks, just to make sure you're making progress.  (I track my day-to-day out of sheer scientific interest, but it doesn't bother me to see the scale bounce up and down a little, as long as the overall trend is downward.)

Pay more attention to how you feel, and how you feel about yourself, than how you look or what the scale says.  Make the ultimate goal your health, and not a number.

If I eat bread that is non white it fills me up and I don't crave more.

I buy oat, rye, multigrain, flaxseed, wheat, ect. This has helped me alot.

Pasta and rice I just prepare one third of the amount and include more veggies.

I keep my grocery receipt in a drawer and mark off things as I use them. This helps me keep track of what I  have and haven't used.

i have a few:

1.   MIND OVER MATTER - for me physical health and fitness are a physical manifestation of mental dicipline.  Train your mind to be strong willed, learn to say no, learn to plan things out.  Most importantly, give yourself mental encouragement all the time!  Don't be too hard on yourself, dieting while living in a world surrounded by food and media images of "perfect" is hard!  Be confident and try to have a positive mental image of yourself and others will react to you more positively.

2.  Stay hydrated.  For me that means drinking tons of tea

3.  sugar/proccessed and fast foods are addictive.  This is why so many people binge on them I think, it is hard to eat them in small amounts.  I would advise to stay away from them.

4.  change up your routine... hit a wall?  do something different!  Look up new workouts online, buy a fitness book, change your eating schedule/cals.. do something.

5.  keep learning!  read books, talk to people, read forums like CC!  There are always things to learn out there about health and fitness.

6.  for me its really about weight training, portion control and healthy choices

good luck everyone!

i tend to crave sweets especially right after dinner, so i just reach for an apple. It takes a while to eat, is sweet and had a good amount of fiber!

I add fresh mint to my water jug. A friend of mine me started doing this.  I grow it in my yard and it makes the water taste so refreshing.

I made oat bran muffins yesterday and added dried cherries to the batter. Kroger has a box mix and all you add is water. Now, I am thinking about all the different kinds I can make. I can have them as a snack or part of my meal. I can also pack them in my lunch.
