Whats the difference between the goal weight vs. the target weight???

Quote  |  Reply

I am soooo confused!  I searched through the topics and couldn't find anything that would help me!  So, does anyone know the difference between the goal weight and the target weight?

Right now I am at 148lbs. and 5'.

My goal is to be 115lbs by August 21 of this year.

My target is supposed to be reached by Dec. 17th of this year.

Why are they so different!?!?!?!Yell

Correct me if im wrong anyone, but im pretty sure this is it:

The goal is when YOU would like to reach that weight. But the Target is the date that would be healtier for you to loose weight. For example i wanted to lose 15 pounds in 2 months. It said my goal weight was "too ambitious". So the counter put in a target date for me where the rate of weight loss would be healthy (normally 1 pound a week for most people)

Hope that helped :)!

The target weight is the day you will actually achieve your goal if you lose an average of 1-2 pounds per week.  Your goal may be to weigh 115 by August 21st but to reach that you will have to lose more than 2 pounds per week.   The Target date they give you is a very conservative estimate of when you will reach your goal only losing the 1-2 pounds per week.  However,  when you start entering your weight loss into your weight log, if you are losing more than a pound a week,  the target date will move closer.  Hope this helps!
