What's for Dinner Tonight?
I'm looking for dinner ideas. Right now, featured in my freezer are lean cuts of pork (without bone), and ground round (1 lb). Chicken breasts (probably 4 or 5), a few frozen veggies such as broccoli florets,
As for other items located in the pantry, on the right we have cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, various canned veggies and a bag of oreos (which I haven't touched, I swear! I just live vicariously through my children). On the left we have starches such as egg noodles, pasta (anti-wheat), and other various boxed, dried, carb-laden insults.
Moving on to the fridge, we encounter a slightly healthier array of foods such as lettuce, celery, strawberries, yogurt, cheese, etc. We also find numerous condiments which makes the door of the fridge quite colorful.
I do have other things, but nothing worth mentioning. I can always make a trip to the grocery store if necessary!
SO, ANY IDEAS? I'M GAME FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS. I have about 500 calories to play around with for dinner (and snack, of course).
You could fry up a few chicken breasts with alittle garlic or whatever spice you like,
then once its cooked add in a cassarole dish, frozen veggies, cooked pasta or rice and a can of cream of whatever soup ( mushroom or chicken) bake for a while, then top off with a little cheese and bake again !
You can go to www.Allrecipes.com and search by ingredients, putting a couple of what sounds good to you in and see if they have any suggestions.
Thanks for the replies!
Sauted onion in olive oil
cooked chopped carrots, celery, cauliflower
1 C steamed white rice
boneless, skinless chicken thigh cooked and browned in olive oil and garlic and worchestershire
chop up the meat when done and add to the top of rice with veggies. Yum!
