What's your dress size goal?
I started dieting when my size eight jeans were getting uncomfortably tight and I absolutely refused to go out and buy new jeans in a bigger size. I figure it was cheaper to just lose the weight. Throughout most of my life I have worn a size 6 or 8. I started at 132.5 pounds, and I'm 5'3 and a half. Now I'm at 120lbs, and wearing a size 2/4. I expected to be wearing a 4 most of time, and was pleasantly surprised to be trying on size 2s at stores like the Gap and Jcrew. (Yes vanity sizing really does make me want to buy from them
)
So my question to all of you is what is your dress size goal? What's more important, the dress size or your scale weight?
My goal is size 8 or 10, but how I look and feel is more important than dress size or scale weight.
My goal is an 8. I'm almost 6'2" so for me an 8 is pretty teeny. I'm in a 10 right now at 180 so I'm looking at 165ish or so to be wearing an 8. I know what you mean about vanity brands, I LOVE that I can just about do an 8 already at JCrew, bless them!
Measurements are what's important to me. I really want a waist less than 30" - which I haven't had since I was a pre-teen. I'd also like to drop another bra band size - the cup size can stay, though! :-) Hips I don't care about so much as I've always been top heavy and carry all my weight on my stomach/back/chest.
Vanity sizing has made clothing sizes have no meaning to me. I'd like to be a pants size 8-10 from when I was a teenager. I suspect that's a size 2-4 these days, but who knows? I mean, I'm now wearing 8-10 and I'm still bigger than when I wore a 14-16 as a teen. Heck, I fit into a size small shirt the other day even though I have a 40" bust! (The arms were a smidge too close fitting, so I bought the medium, but the concept of even fitting into a small top was just odd to me.)
wow thats great to reach your goal!!!! what diet were you doing,
I'm a 6 right now and I would love to get down to a 2 or 4.
I'm a 14 right now (just recently got there), and I'd like to be a 10/12. I already have no hips so I look smaller - most think I'm a 12, and they're not too off...I can fit some 12s now.
I just want to feel toned...that's all. :)
My goal is size 0 or 2, right now im like a size 6
I'm aiming for 6 only because of my freaking huge arse boobs. I CAN NOT get rid of them. I wear a 6 in pants and a 12 in dresses just because of them. Absolutely infuriating. THAT'S DISPROPORTIONATE! So I'm hoping to be a 2/4 in waist/pants and a 6 (I'd even take 8 at this point) in the top.
i would like to get to a size 10, i think it's a perfect size for my body type...currenlty a 14
oh man i would love to wear a 4 or 6....realistically probably a 6. Currently I am a 10...::sigh::
SOMEDAY I WILL GET THERE!!!
When I started, I was 18 or 20. I'm borderline 10 or 12 right now, depending on brand, style, etc. I want to be an 8.

Girl, I know how you feel! When I buy dresses I have to go two sizes bigger just to fit the boobs and then get the rest taken in! I wear a 14 now (boobs included) and I'd like to be at least a 6 (boobies included)
Best of luck, ladies!
is this american or british sizes we're talking here? :)
i just end up having to buy kids clothes lol
I just went to H&M today and I fit into a 12! The last time I went shopping for dresses (ages and ages ago) I was a 16, so to fit into a 12 was a pretty big shock!
I'd like to fit into a 6 or an 8, but I've never been thinner than this in my life so I don't know where would be a good place to stop.
I finally made it to a 0. I am so happy. But it gets better...my boobs shrank immensley too! I used to be a 36DD and am now a 34B. I feel so much better and my back is thanking me for it.
Now:
height-5'4"
weight- 221.5 lbs
size- 16/18
bra size- 38C (though, honestly, it should probably be a 40C)
Goal:
height- if I could get taller out of this too that'd be awesome, but I doubt it'll happen..
weight- 140ish
size- 8/10... though I've never been that small so I don't know what size fits a 140lb body on a 5'4" frame?
bra size- 34 or 36 C
I'd love to hit all of those goals.. but I'm not sure how all of this is going to play out so I can't really give an answer as to which is more important than the other. I just want to look in the mirror and feel good about how my clothes fit.. regardless of my weight or size!
I started out in January as a tight 16 and have gotten down to a loose 8 - would be a 6 if I could get rid of this blasted muffin top! So I'll probably fizzle out about a 6.

FYI, I'm 5'3.5 and currently weigh 160 (159.9 this morning - first time below 160!!!). I'm a size 8/10 and bra size 36C. Just to give you a frame of reference. I figure at 140, I'll be a size 6.
I'm in a 10/12 depending on cut and brand. My realistic goal is to be a size 8, so i think if i lose 20lbs that should do it, plus i'll be at my goal weight then anyway. :)
I'm currently in a size 8. I'm 5'3, 133 lbs. I know that I'll be atleast a 6 at my goal weight of 120. I'd love to be in a 4, but I've never been that small so I'm not sure if I can get there. I started out at 164 in a size 14
