whats your drink of choice? ;)

Quote  |  Reply

hello,

just wondering what everyone does when they go out drinking but also want to watch their calories. my birthday is coming up in the next two weeks and i want to lose a couple of pounds. in the mean time, my one friend is turning 21 and i have mixers for my dance team and basically its senior year and i don't want to not drink at all when i go out.

i really don't like beer, which i think is a good thing because they can have a lot of calories in them that add up. is there a liquor that might have less calories then others or a mixed drink that isn't tooo bad??

thanks!!

I stick with wine. Vodka waters or vodka sodas are probably the lowest cal drink out there.

I heard gin is the best--luckily, I love it with soda water and lime.

Generally, the lighter in colour the liquor is, the lower the calories.

Bacardi and diet all night long, well not all night they add up ya know. Also u might end up on a floor somewhere and thats bad too lol.

Um I don't think color has anythign to do with it.  Most hard liquors have 65 calories per ounce (whiskey, vodka, tequila, gin, rum).  Wines can vary a bit, from 75-100 calories or so for 4 ounces.

You need to be careful about the mixers though.   Fruity drinks add lots of calories and cream based drinks are really calorific.

If you mix with diet soda, water or tonic, you're likely to be safe.

Tonic is low calorie but not zero calorie.

I like a greyhound...vodka and grapefruit juice, there's calories, but also some nutrition.  You could mix it with diet squirt or sprite or 7-up or a diet 7&7.

I don't drink very often or very much when I do. I don't know if this helps, but I prefer Rum and Pinnapple. Don't know about the cals, but I like it.

straight up vodka. or tequila =]

I drink Ice Picks which are fresh brewed iced tea with raspberry vodka, preferably Stoli,(or regular) and a lemon.  I used to drink Bacardi and Diet Coke but have learned how bad diet soda is for you and how it can actually make you gain weight. Also no adding artificial sweeteners!!! They are just as bad!

My drink of choice...Water! I don't drink, so *shrugs*

I tend to just stick with vodka shots.. it gets the job done without all the extra calories from fruity mixed drinks, which I LOVE, but they also make me feel sick because of all the sugar, not the alcohol. And they are LOADED with calories.. so I normally just do vodka shots and chase it with diet 7up or diet sprite

Rum and Diet Coke.

White wine spritzers.  Refreshing and the calories are watered down with seltzer.

Wine.

Gin and diet tonic in the summer,  scotch in winter.  Wine any time!

I was referring to just liquor, not wine, beer, etc. Lighter colour liquors have less sugar so they tend to be lower calorie.

Captain Morgan & Diet. If I'm making them at home I'll have them with Coke Zero or Diet Dr Pepper. Ah Captain Morgan. You bring out the *argggg* in me :)

vanilla vodka and diet coke

Crystal Light & Vodka... Or Mike's Hard Lemonade Light or Smirnoff ice light. You can also make a fake Margarita with Crystal Light Lemonade, lime juice & tequilla.

Vodka and soda water (no cals, no sugar, no artificial sweetners), with a slice of lime.
