I've been chuckling about this all week and I just wanted to share.
My husband is such a sweetheart! For my birthday, he decided to paint all my (actually his) old rusty weight plates so they would look shiny new in my little basement gym.
It did not occur to him that he was preventing me from using them for the several days it took for them to dry! How's that for an excuse for "why I couldn't work out."
Actually, I was able to improvise with dumbbells and I added a little extra hiit on my new recumbent bike (also a birthday present), so it was not a total loss.
:) I guess I should be happy that he painted them a nice subtle black and not Barbie pink!
Very cute! Now your plates are all shiney and new! Hubbies are good to have around for those type things! When I am really lazy, hubby helps load my bars and put the weights back after!
Lately I'm full of excuses! Work is so crazy this time of year that I find it impossible to get out the door at a reasonable hour. I'm applying for a bit of a dream job, so I've let that suck up time. And I'm taking a class that disrupts my workout schedule and I've let that derail me, too.
I'm doing pretty well keeping my diet good - not great - but good. So I've got that going for me which is nice.
I think I'm just going to go to the gym when I can manage it, and push myself to get there on days when it's possible in my schedule. I can bring extra snacks for when I leave work late so that I can't use hunger and low energy as an excuse. I know that this class will end soon - mid May, and the job officially posted today so I can turn the application / portfolio in earlier rather than later.
Thanks for giving me a space to own up and make a plan!
Good luck on the position!!! I am sure you will be back at it before you know it. You have been so committed thus far!
