What's your favorite NON guilty pleasure?
I'm always up for new ideas but I want to know your favorite healthy snack?
Mine is a cup of fresh strawberries halves sprinkled with a vanilla splenda- yummy! (49 calories) ![]()
Reason: 5/1/08: Stickied. 5/9/08: Unstickied
25 calorie mug of nestle hot chocolate
100 calorie pack kettle corn
tomatoes! w/a little salt and pepper on them. I know not really sweet but I love tomatoes ;)
I eat a grapefruit everday at 3pm. My fav!!!
I also wanted to add that I recently discovered these little snacks called O'COCO'S, they're chocolate crisps, but a package of them is only 90 calories. And they're organic so no preservatives and you can actually recognize all the ingredients ;) Anyways they're a great way to satisfy a chocolate craving for me as they're mostly cocoa powder w/just enough sugar so it's not bitter, still only 6g. of sugar though, and no saturated fat! I think they're great :)
I have many, but I really like Gala apples and fresh strawberries.
gala apples when they're crunchier and tangerines :D
Broccoli. It might not be a pleasure for some but whenever I eat it I feel so happy!
its a salad that adds up to a decent meal... but its mega healthy! its got baby spinich, sweet corn , chick peas, tuna and maybe a few olivs... occasionally a poached egg on top for good measure lol. i love it. i know its not really a snack but still. Either that or broccoli or a passion fruit smoothie. yummie :P
blue bunny sweet freedom fudge bars
100 calorie pack popcorn
green tea smoothie. YUM :D
green tea powder = 0 cal

A few notes: If you don't have fresh basil, you can substitute about 1/4 cup dried basil, but mix it with the soy sauce to rehydrate it before tossing it into the pan. I did this for the batch I sent over to my in-laws a few days ago, and it was just as good. I also substituted Rose's Lime Juice for the actual lime + zest (added it to the soy mixture before mixing in the pan.)
This recipe is not nearly as involved as it might seem. I bought plain (non-seasoned) already steamed shrimp, but you could also use frozen. The whole meal takes about 20 minutes, start to finish.
Also, this ended up being more like 5-6 meals for us, but your mileage may vary.
"I can't believe it's not butter!" spray and some extra salt. YUM!
and
Fiber one's chocolate granola bars.
