Hey guys
I'm so determined to lose 5 kgs.. its really strange cos in the past 4 months, I've been eating less than I used to, and exercising more, but I've gained??
This makes no sense. I used to eat 3000 cals (recovery from an ED), and once I reached my goal weight, I halved those cals and added exercise, and I'm STILL gaining! Its frustrating because I'm 5kilos past my goal weight and I'm worried that this is going to continue...
The food also seems to going to my thighs which is horrible to see. I'd say I eat pretty healthy foods and exercise 3-5 times a week. But this is just annoying !
Whats going on?
Thanks fr any help
Did you gain 5 kgs while eating 1500 cal per day and exercising?
That just doesn't sound right. Either you are not measuring/weighing foods and are way off in calorie count or you are ill and need to consult a Doctor.
yes i did.
A normal day of what I'd eat would be:
breakfast - nonfat yoghurt & almonds (200)
recess - apple (70)
lunch - turkey avo sandwich & mandarin (300)
dinner - normally fish & steamed veg or what my parents cook.
ocassionaly my snack in between lunch and dinner would be a bowl of all bran cereal, dry.
Either my metabolism has strangely slowed to a snail's pace, or something is terribly wrong.
I don't know the answer, but if you are recovering from an ED, halving your intake AND adding exercise seems a bit extreme. Maybe someone in H&S will have more experience with this?
I'm not recovering anymore, as I've been healed of the ED earlier this year.
The reason I halved my intake was because I was scared of gaining more and wanted to maintain.
how old are you? maybe you are still growing taller.
How old are you? Recess sounds like you're still in school. Maybe your body is growing and that's why you're gaining weight.
I would also like to know how old you are, and also, how tall you are, and how much you weigh.
You say you're 5kg overweight but are you really? If you are, those numbers don't sound right, and you shouldn't be gaining. But if you aren't overweight, and/or you're still growing, then that probably would explain the gaining.
i'm the same way. I've cut my calorie intake... I've upped my excercize and I either stay the same OR gain. Its like my body LIKES being this weight and the only way to loose it is to NOT eat (which i cant do)
Not sure which steps to take
