What's a good Nutrition Report

Quote  |  Reply
What should an ideal Nutrition report look like? what percentage is best of carbs/protein/fats? My carbs I think were high (53%). What is a good Sodium level? I've been retaining water. I'm trying to drink a lot of water and I read on another forum to add lemon to it as a natural diuretic. I'm pre-diabetic and need to keep my sugars and carbs low. I'm 5'6" and 330 lbs if you need to know that to figure anything. Thanks for your input. Vicki

I try to shoot for 50-25-25 (carbs-fat-protein), but it's been a lot harder since I switched to vegetarianism. It turns out being 50-30-20ish. But yeah, that's a good start.

Sodium, try to keep that under 2500 mg per day. It's surprising how much we consume! The best way to reduce your sodium is to reduce the amount of processed foods in your diet. :) More veggies, fruit, and all that good stuff. :D Yay!

Sodium shouldn't be more than 2000 mg.  As far as % of each "they" say 20-30% fat 50% carbs and rest protein.

If your carbs are good carbs like fresh fruit and veggies whole grains etc then 53% isn't bad at all.

Try to get at least 25 grams of fiber a day and that can only be gotten in good quantities from carbs.
I like to have 25% fats, 20 to 25% protein, and the rest carbs.  I avoid refined carbs and saturated fats.  I like my sodium to be below 1800, my cholesterol below 150 and my fiber above 25 grams.  I also like to see that nutritional grade of A, but I don't have a cow if it's only a C.
