Whats your Happy Food?
Just curious...
What healthy food/recipe do you eat on a fairly regular basis that when you eat it, it automatically makes you happy? What food do you look forward to eating daily? A food that is so good you just have to sit back and smile.
Firstly breakfast is my fav meal of the day. I always eat oatmeal in the morning. I love, love, love my banana bread oatmeal.
1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 banana, 1 tbsp flax, 7g walnuts, 1 tsp brown sugar (melts on top, yum) and sprinkle of cinnamon. (343 cal)
Reason: Released as sticky
My oatmeal pancakes at breakfast, my morning snack (pita bread, peanut butter, an apple, and cottage cheese), my tuna or chicken salad at lunch, my Lara Bar in the afternoon, and my nighttime snack of cottage cheese mixed with yogurt and flaxseeds. Mmm...
Of course those aren't the only things I eat the whole day, they're just the highlights.
It's funny that so far, we all look forward to our breakfast. I absolutely love my french toast every morning. I try to eat it slow so I can savor it. Mmmmmm
LOL, I guess that depends on how you define 'healthy.' I treat myself to a good, lean steak from time to time, and it always makes me happy. Many people don't really think of steak as 'health food,' but a moderate amount of lean red meat from time to time is fine for most of us, and good for those of us who have difficulty metabolising vitamins B6 and B12 from other sources.
Sweet potatoes, salads, and really crisp apples also do the trick.
Cereal, sweet potatoes and buckwheat pancakes.
Not healthy food. DESERT. Brownies, ice cream, cake. :)
Some form of healthy dessert that I can look up on allrecipe. The other day it was tofu chocolate pudding. =]
i wake up craving my daily breakfast of kashi heart to heart, a banana, and almond milk...
and then sometimes ill have it for pre-dinner... hahah
if there was only one meal i could eat for the rest of my life, that would be it.

I make a low-fat guacamole and home made pita chips, that are so good that I almost feel guilty when I eat them... mmmmmm.....
ice cream....i love it...Pinkberry is deeeelish!! i love cold desserts and oatmeal with cinnamon yummy goodness...nice and warm. i'm a walking contradiction...lol.
laughing cow cheese and sweet gherkin pickles

low fat custard! I have it as dessert everyday (not sure whether that's good or not lol) but I look forward to it everyday.
I love the "Elvis Sandwich" (not fried, of course): Whole wheat bread, natural peanut butter, and a sliced ripe banana. Yummmmmm...instant happiness!
Shepherd's Pie- Momma's way, of course. It may be a humble [(pie) teehee] dish, but it is my favourite meal on the planet.

I cant say much about happy "food" but my happy "time" is whenever I'm really hungry and then sit down to eat a slow, nice, healthy meal
