Whats your Happy Food?
Just curious...
What healthy food/recipe do you eat on a fairly regular basis that when you eat it, it automatically makes you happy? What food do you look forward to eating daily? A food that is so good you just have to sit back and smile.
Firstly breakfast is my fav meal of the day. I always eat oatmeal in the morning. I love, love, love my banana bread oatmeal.
1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 banana, 1 tbsp flax, 7g walnuts, 1 tsp brown sugar (melts on top, yum) and sprinkle of cinnamon. (343 cal)

Breakfast is my favorite meal! so I switch off between high fiber cereal w/ skim or almond milk with a sliced banana, "light" french toast, oatmeal pancakes, homemade egg mcmuffin sandwich, or oatmeal
This week's happy food discovery is egg white omelette on whole grain toast with a slice of gouda broiled on top and an apple on the side. Heavenly warm and gooey!
The egg white, feta, spinach and tomato omelete at a local breakfast spot here in my town. I have fruit and wheat toast with it for lunch once a week on my lunch break : ).
Frozen Grapes!!!!!!!!!!
and cereal with strawberries.
and delicious dark chocolate, mmmmmmmmmm
Now where do I begin..
My All-Bran with Banana for brekky, my 3 Weetbix with Banana for brekky every other day, my berryfruits yogurt with fresh fruit, my cashews and sultanas, my sunflower or peanut butter on multigrain toast, or mah mumma's homemade vegetarian pizza?!
ORRRR the humongous chicken schnitzel focaccia I've just discovered at a cafe for only $5.50?!
Oh yumyumyum. *smiles spreads across face*
Mine is like you my favourite meal of the day: Breakfast.
Either my syrup flavoured porridge with banana and skim milk, or my All bran with banana and skim milk.
Or my homemade bean pizza.
Homemade pizza base with wholemeal yeast, half a tin of beans and 60g of weight watchers cheese. Delicious.
Hmmm...that's tough : )
Here are "MAYBE" my top 3-
Grilled chicken sandwich w/ light mayo.
All the fresh fruit I adore.
Homemade fresh spaghetti.
But, you know, it changes day after day. It varies..

anything with peanut butter....
vanilla yogurt topped with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and a sprikle of kashi go lean crunch. yum yum. gonna have some today.
ooooh... I love a grilled cheese sandwich (complete with weight-watchers low fat cheese, whole grain bread, fake butter spray:) and low-sodium tomato soup. It's quick and easy and somehow fabulously satisfying. Smart-pop popcorn. Give me that and a desert island and I'll be happy. I get all the satisfaction of mindless eating without the guilt, or the calories. By the time I'm done with 100 calorie bag I'm actually full.
