I'm just curious. What is your main reason? Is it to be happy? Or to impress someone? Or something else? I know theres ALOT of things, but if you could olny pick the MOST important one which one would it be? :]

To be healthy.

To take pressure off my aching joints was why I started.  But now, almost halfway to goal (!), I feel so much better, I would have to say it is to feel great in my body, both physically and emotionally.

To feel better about myself. And to feel healthy again.

I've done it to be healthier, and it's worked.

To look better in my clothes! and not have to go through the juniors and find my way to "Woman's World" or "Plus Size Fashions" One more thing I forgot, we took the kids to Six Flags for the 4th of July, and I had to ride with my youngest son, on a kiddie ride, when the attendant closed the bar across my stomach it was so uncomfortable, my fat hanged over the top and squeezed out the bottom, I was so embarrassed. but next 4th of July look out. Also at Ranging Waters if you ride a two man tube on certain slide, the heaviest person has to sit in the back and that's REAL embarassing when your husband is in the front and your in the back, everyone knows why your in the back!

My kick in the butt was back in june when I booked my vaca and some of the things I wanted to do I weighed too much for.  I booked and pre paid for them anyway (with no hope of refunds) to light a fire under my butt.  I made my vaca goal and am down a total of 54lbs.  And I just keep doing it, not sure why though historically I usually give up on myself once I reach whatever goal I set....this time is different so I'm thinking I am finally doing it for me and it will stick.

To prove to myself my inner strength and willpower, as well as gaining a super hot bod, potentially. =D

 ^This. I HATE that!! I don't even really care about getting down to my goal weight if my thighs stop touching before then. Squats, squats, squats...

Lots of reasons like getting to the point where I can choose clothes because they look cute rather than because they hide things, it's just important to me that I feel good about myself. I'm not looking to be a twig, just average :-)

I can totally relate to that...I am really looking forward to NOT buying clothes just because they somehow fit me!

I want to feel better about myself, have more confidence in myself.

For my daughters, I want them to see me healthy, and eating healthy and raise them to be the same way, leading by example I hope :)

I have many reasons and I really can't decide the top one, it is either my fear of turning out like my mother (unhappy and 280lbs) or if it is my self loathing.

For me.. to feel better about me...

I hate extra fat and I want to get rid of it.

I like that. thats my reason too to be healthy and feel amazing about myself, not that I don`t already. I just started training with a trainer last week. I am looking forward to reaching my goal.

Because when I met the boy who is now my Fiancee I felt fantastic - I loved my body and was at the fittest I have ever been - that has slowly decreased in the two years I've known him, and although he tells me daily how beautiful I am to him - which I believe to no end - I, personally, feel less spectacular about my body and want to return to how I felt then - I feel healthy, happier, and stronger!!!

to be healthy and happy.... im a tad bit over weight and this is the most i weighed ever so, im doing it mostly to be happy but i also want to be the right weight.

I want to have energy for my son, for a long, long time, I want to take care of my body now to be able to do things with my son that he would enjoy.

Right now I am able to run, jump, play soccer, climb into playgrownds and swings and trees, I love to be able to follow him and feel the freedom of movement that otherwise I wouldn't feel.

to be overweight takes so many things from your life other than your health, it is important to be healthy to do things with your kids and  be an active part of their lives.

plus I want to teach my son to be healthy as a way of living, so he doesn't have to make any effort in the future like I had to do to learn to be healthy and re-educate my brain.

food is a very dangerous addiction and I don't want my son to have to deal with it.
