Oh, I think it's quite possible that before my calorie counting days I likely could have eaten 10,000 cals in a day... maybe (probably) more. Buffets are the devil.

for real???? i am so so so full that i couldn sleep i felt so bloated after 5000...............
Im sure I drank more than 5000 calories in my college days.

Definitely. Becuase I was so used to eating poorly. I sure didn't gain all this weight eating the appropriate amount of calories! lol

It's easy to eat tons of calories without even realizing it. Then throw in calories from drinking (pop, juice, alcohol...oh my!)....

BUT.. now that I've been eating healthier, I would probably feel really gross after 5000 too. Hooray for change! :)

I would have to say around 5000 as well. Between drinking regular soda and eating Mexican food they can really add up! Now that I am aware of how unhealthy some of the things I used to eat (and think were healthy) actually are, I can imagine I really racked up the calories when I wasn't eating healthy! I found out today that the chimi that I used to order at my favorite restaurant is 1700 calories all by itself!

3900. I ate a whole bag of yogurt covered raisins, plus my maintenence calories, plus like two pounds of dried fruit.

I probably eat about 8000 every thanksgiving!

(and then 4000 each day after until leftovers are gone...)

i don't know. i'm sure at my high weight i probably ate 4000 on a food filled day. that wasn't normal of course but i'm sure i have done it before.

now a days if i eat 1800 i feel like i might die. which really never happens anymore.

I've eaten 10000 calories in 24 hours before... I had eaten almost nothing for about a week and was really active...I wasn't hungry for at least two days afterwards.Wink

I have seen television programs about compulsive overeaters that eat 30000-50000 calories per day. That's right, FIFTY THOUSAND.

OMG, totatlly like 1300. Well, since I was 8 and started counting my calories. Blech. 3000 calories? Ew.

Counting calories at 8 is in NO way healthy. I'd say my worst day might have been around 6000 calories - I was a master at conquering the buffets. Embarassed

It's super healthy, and if I ever get my period back, I'm going to have a baby and start her counting calories once she starts school. Nothing worse than having a fatty around.

LOL, I was being sarcastic.

I think it's bad for people to come on here and brag about their binges. Just as bad as when people brag about how little they have eaten.

PS. I am a fatty. No offence ment.

oh.....sorry...God that was actually a really **** comment from me! sorry......no offence meant on my part either. i wasn bragging about it i just wondered wat ppl can actually stomach....seems a lot is based on pre-concieved psychology around it!...sorry about that hgeilrehtaeh!!

oh my god, before I started dieting, I would have days where I ate like 12 homemade cookies (so that's what like 2000 caloires?) on top of the rest of the food that day!  Oh man I did eat a lot of sweets! The most was probably on holidays, where I would have to have some of everything.

Since starting dieting, I think my highest was around 2700 on easter! hehe I can't stay away from that candy!

I don't really think anyone is bragging. The OP asked a question - we're answering it. I don't know why it was asked (maybe to make them feel better about their situation or whatever), but I'm certainly not "proud" of eating loads of food in my pre-health conscious days.

Ohh, and it's not funny to joke around like that. There have been people who put their young kids on "diets" and really start them off on a bad foot in life.

Eh, sucks to be them. I was rolling on the floor, laughing out loud though.

I think this question is a real eye-opener into how quickly a person can consume calories if they're not informed about what they're eating.  It's also good to have reminders of how easily some of us packed on the pounds for years without even realizing what we were doing to our bodies.

I have no idea what my all-time highest day was, but between buffets and chocolate I'm sure it was astronomical.  BUT, I have calculated what used to be my typical 3 meals of fast food per day and I can tell you it was scary:

Sausage, Egg and Cheese Biscuit @ Wild Bean Cafe:  970 calories

Big Mac, Large Fries & Apple Pie @ McDonalds: 1380 calories

Hershey Bar:  270  calories

Mushroom & Swiss Steakburger w/mayo, onion rings & Chocolate Shake @ Steak & Shake: 2310 calories

TOTAL - 4930 Calories on a typical day.

That, of course is why I'm here, why I've lost 36 pounds since January and why I still have 100 more to lose.  But, thankfully, after counting up that menu I'll never go back.

there is a definite possibility that there have been days (most likely occurring during my freshman year of college) where i hit 6000 or more calories.

Luckily I wasn't counting calorie then and I can just live in blissful ignorance and be happy that things have changed now.
