What's the most water weight you've put on in one day?

What food do you think caused it ?

How long did it take for you to lose that water weight?

im a serious athlete who is constantly competing, so my weight can vary from 4-5 pounds in a day.  for every pound lost you should drink one quart of water to rehydrate. now for gaining. it all depends on what you ate that day. anything refined high sodium foods will do that to you. it will dissapear within a day or two. fastest way to get rid of it though is to sweat it all out. do 30 minutes of intense cardio.

I've seen 5 pounds appear magically overnight.

Cause: Time of the Month/PMS, salty nuts, dill pickles, restaurant food.

Time to Lose: about 7-9 days, if I recall correctly.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ..... water retention.

=^..^= MOLLY

Thanks saltboy that's a great tip. I've been told a lot just too drink more water and thats it. Or cut back my salt. Which I can't hardly bare to.

13 lbs

pms

1 month

but that was a while ago. i do think the cardio helps loads. and i make sure to drink the proper amount of water for my body (which i learned from about.com's calc). doing that, i didn't gain any water weight the last time around.

Last month I gained 8 pounds over night at my TOM.  It always takes my the whole week of TOM to lose it.

The thing I hope people reading this post see it that the water weight will come off as long as you keep on CC  and other weight loss measures like exercise and drinking plenty of water.  It can be discouraging but, it's just a matter of days or weeks not years. Wink

My weight's been yo-yoing for the last ten days, going up and down about half a pound at a time and immediately coming back next day (so it's got to be water-weight...) The most I've gained overnight is two pounds and it took a week to lose it again. I must have had a lot of water weight last month though because the week after my period I lost four pounds instead of my usual 2.
I usually gain 2-4 after a weekend of drinking and bar food.  Usually comes off and then some by Friday.

hmmm about 6 or 8 lbs

i think it was chocolate and salty junk food from a party

it took like almost a week! yeah...i was bloooated and it was a bad idea to eat all that junk becuz i was about to get my period :\

14 lbs, caused by my rehydrating after loosing 14lbs of water weight the day befor.  Took about a day and a half to loose it, 6-8 hours to put it back on.
um 5 pounds in one day.

my eating disorder was extremely bad at the time, and i was starving.

so i ate 2 plums and 1 peach and BAM, the water weight came on within a few hours. =[

but i'm gooood now haha. that was in summer 05.
yep... 5 pounds in one day! lord knows i didn't eat 5 pounds of food!!! and yes... it takes about a week to get it off, at least!

it ain't fun :( stuffing... i love stuffing!!! stuffing sucks...

6 lbs

Time of month, salty diet , rehydration.

Don't know how long it'll  take to lose it; that was 6 days ago and it's only half gone.

10 pounds.

Random binge.

About 3 days? Lots of water, only veggies.

7lbs

Fast food for a week

took 7-10 days to come off.

I have learned that my body is super sensitive to sodium. I am gonna cut back my cheat days to only 1 per month( eating out). It always takes me SOOOO long to get rid of the water weight. I did find one thing that has worked wonders for me and thats lemon juice in water. I squeeze about a half a lemon into every 36 ounce jug of water I drink.

12 lbs after a weekend splurge (about 9-10 of it was water retention and food volume). Took a couple of weeks to come off.
