I'm trying to build sandwich ideas for work.  I typically have a lean, low sodium turkey breast meat on either Sara Lee Delightful Wheat (45 cal a slice) or in a La Tortilla wrap (50 cal each).  I'm just not sure what to team up with my turkey.  Of all crazy things, my Dr. doesn't want me to  have a ton of green leafy veggies, so romaine and spinach are out (it's a vitamin K thing).  All I'm coming up with for ideas are onion and peppers.  Any thoughts?

You could always add cucumbers, swiss cheese, and tomatoes to your sandwich! those are staples in my own.

Hummus, tomatos, avocado, onions, roasted red peppers, cucumber. If you use hummus, you don't even need another spread. My fav is hummus, avocado, tomato and onion on splet bread. Yummm

I have been having turkey breast on pepperidge farms light 7 grain bread with avacado...yummmm.  I use lettuce too but if you can't have lettuce its good with just the turkey and avacado.  I just started using this 7 grain bread and it is great.

Reason: DELETED DUPLICATE POST

pickles! mustard! olives! peppers! mushrooms!

Gosh yes, hummus. I make my own too.
Cranberry sauce (or even sugar free jelly works... not too much)
I like turkey cream cheese (light) and sweet chilli, tho i like it toasted
Or turkey and beetroot (also tuna and beetroot. the canned stuff)
Mexican - salsa... mmm... cheese if you wish.
Leftover veggies frm a stir fry (with the sauce too :D)
Caramelised onions are nice.
Yogurt (not the sweet kind, the natural kind. Like sour cream) with a spicy sauce (like in a lamb kebab)
Chop up the turkey and mix with a bit of tandoori sauce and have with cucumbers

I also make fruit sandwhiches. apple or banana and peanut butter. Pecans and pears (maybe a little soft cheese) apple, cinnamon and cottage cheese jaffle.

In terms of flavours, garlic+rosemary, morrocan spices, anything you like!

For the wraps try some italian low fat low cal spritzers too
Or an egg instead of the turkey? Two egg whites, lots of pepper.r.

brie and cranberry is soo good with turkey but only i fyou can afford the cals! (and cost)
what is this bread??!

45 cals a slice???

I'm living off rice cakes for my 'bread' at lunch...maybe an alternative would be good...

I just wish I could have bread - but it bloats me soooo much!

aunt millies light whole wheat bread are 35 cals per slice
I make wraps instead of sandwiches. Today's wrap contains:

sundried tomato deli turkey, baby romaine lettuce, sundried tomatoes (not in oil), green & red pepper strips and 1 tbsp of light veggie cream cheese, all on a whole wheat wrap. Total: 270 cals. :)

I usually have either cucumbers or baby carrots with it. Sometimes i swap the cream cheese for 1 oz of thinly sliced cheddar or mozza cheese.

The sundried tomatoes are KEY... so tasty.
With turkey sandwiches, I like pickles, olives, tomato, sauteed onions, cabbage, spicy brown mustard, cottage cheese, ground black pepper, banana peppers, and shredded carrots.  Depending on the bread I use, I'll add cucumber or cauliflower.  I like my sandwiches to rpetty much be a salad on toast.  :\

I like the cucumber idea.  Thanks for the tips.  Gonna see about getting cucumber and peppers at the grocery tonite

avocados and brie! (... but.... this was my PRE-diet sandwhich!)

I like alfalfa sprouts on mine with some deli style mustard.  You can get the crunch without all the green.

I eat at Roly Poly's  once a week and all of their items are fresh.  I order the greak turkey wrap on whole wheat and it has turkey, 3 kalamata olives, I skip the tomato, you skip the spinach, low fat feta cheese, onions, roasted red peppers, banana peppers, fat free tomato basil dressing and I add fat free mayo and grilled...so fabulously yummy!
Arnold Bakery Light is nice healthy actual wheat (no enriched flour), with 40 calories a slice, great taste... its about all I use anymore.

I love tomato, red onion, green peppers, mustard and my newest obsession - banana peppers.  YUMMY

Tomatoes and turkey go great together.

ohhh how i love banana peppers
