Melkor "Hey, crow away - we're all due a little brag time now and then. ( Which reminds me, I should change out the runner recruitment drive with something new, so if anyone want to have a brag thread up top, make one ;) )"

So here we go.

Since starting weight lifting vs doing cardio all the time - all though I've gained weight due to poor eating and stress and stuff I've managed to drop back from a size 14 to a 12 and the 12s are getting baggier every day.

So what is your personal achievement that you want to share!!  Brag it up folks!!

six to seven hours a week of Volleyball.

way Too much fun to be called exercise

I completed my first 10 mile race... finished at 1:39:05, no walk breaks at all!!! :) :)  A couple years ago, it was hard to run for 2 minutes straight.

Unfortunately, I think all the training for the race made me slack on weight lifting, I have lost some muscle definition as well have put on 10 lbs in the last few months :(  Back to work!! This time in the weight room, not the pavement!

In my class last week, I did 3 pushups from my toes.. first time ever!  Hopefully next week, it's 5 :)

I officially bench-pressed 45 pounds (yes, that is the bar just by itself) the other day on my own and managed a whole set of 10 reps without shaking too much. I have scrawny arms and what I would consider minimal upper body strength, so it was a big deal! I can remember when I couldn't even budge it. Wink

actually being excited to go to the gym, eating healthier than i ever have in my entire life, and being able to zip up and fasten the top of my black slacks without my tummy bulging out (well almost - the top hook popped off a long time ago).

ha!  that was latin for "with", not slang for semen Laughing

Ok now that's funny!!  Good job on the good grades :)

=======================================

My non-scale victory would have to be... that when I walk, my legs don't rub together anymore!  I know, it's kinda gross, but I know some of you here will know what I'm talking about!

My victory today was at the gym. I did the elliptical for 33 minutes, and did 4.15 miles during that time (Most I've ever done during one 33 minute time period), and then walked/ran/sprinted on the treadmill, and got 3 miles in 30 minutes, and 10 minutes of that was just walking, so I averaged about 7:30 minute miles!

Tomorrow will be an easier workout, that's for sure..

Ran the Chicago Marathon 3:42 Boston qualified!!! happy (and it was my first marathon)

I finally was able to run a 10 min mile! Finally. I have been jogging for a while and can jog three miles in a row but couldn't seem to run at 6mph for the whole mile, but I finally did it. (and I was never able to do that before, not even in high school)

I ran about 3 miles in 27 minutes and change on a 1.0 incline.  I think I'm going to start looking for marathons to run.

Edit: By that I meant start training for marathons, heh.

After a pleasing half marathon time last year, 6 months into my running career I got shin splints and my times started to get worse. Yesterday I did that same half marathon again and was so nervous I'd do worse than last year but I PB'd by 4.5 mins - 1:40:53! (And beat my boyfriend - who beat me last week in a 10k)

I ran my first 5k a few weeks ago. I never thought I would run. High school track just taught me how much I hated running. I can't say I love it, but I'm going to keep at it. I've decided that I'm going to run another race in November and then do 1 race a month starting in March. I'd like to work my way up to a half marathon this summer!

I ran 10 k over the weekend, and did it in less than a hour a PB!! I also love running and I am really happy that I have finally found something healthy that I love to do.

Also in this same weekend I decided to try on a friends jeans just to see if they would fit, I always thought that she was way smaller than me but turns out they FIT! Just to be sure it wasn't a fluke I also tried on a skirt of hers and a pair of pants and all fit comfortably, I was THRILLED, makes all the hard work worth while, I am officialy 2 dress sizes smaller than I was this time last year!! Finally I have reached my goal, I am a UK size 8, I can't even believe it. Must go shopping!!

Hot Damn! Way to go eddie!

 lol...thanks....i saw him 30 minutes after....he was a bit shook-up, but ok...non da less...

NEXT UP...JAPAN!!!!!!

I went from 31% body fat down to 17% since this last April....but my biggest accomplishment???  Finally being strong enough to do a real push-up instead of the on your knees push-ups!

Now if I can just get through this core test http://sportsmedicine.about.com/od/bestabexer cises/a/core_test.htm

I have started buying fresh ingredients and cooking at home for my family. I have tried many new recipes this year and have found several dishes even my S.O. loves! I have as many fresh vegetables in my diet as I ever have since living on my own. I feel good about supporting several smaller local grocery stores too rather than the big one, I can afford them now that I buy less packaged foods and more deli, butcher and produce items.

I ran my first half marathon on October 18th and finished in 1:51:24 - my goal was under 2 hours so I was thrilled!!!

This is awesome that we can let others know what we did. I have lost 70 pds in 6months. I love the gym. U should have me when I started. It was so funny. I could not hardly get ten pounds weights and lift them. My trainer started me off doing planks Yuck!!! I could not make it for 10 sec. Now I can go for 2 min. I love working out!!!
