There are several foods that I have realized are huge trigger foods for me.  If I even allow myself a small taste of these items it seems to send me on a downward spiral of eating bad foods...I think it is so strange how I have to completely avoid these foods...I don't even allow myself to have them as a "treat" to myself  b/c it seems like when I do things just get out of control!!

 My trigger foods:

pasta, cake/pie - doesn't even matter what kind, candy bars, chocolates, ice cream, cinnamon rolls, peanut butter cookies,  french fries, burger king cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, .....

One indulgence of sugar seems to always screw me up and I will eat bad for days.  It's like I am addicted to these kinds of food.  So weird.  My friends all say..well just treat yourself occassionally...BUT I know I CAN'T.  I have to quit "cold turkey"  on these items.  Sometimes it's maddening!!!

pasta is my death ray food...
Pie, because the recommended serving size is so little! I think a more realistic size would be a quarter of the pie, not one sixteenth. Lol.

For me, with trigger foods it helped to go cold turkey for a month or two, then try again at portion control.

i don't really get "triggered" anymore to be honest...

sometimes if i haven't eaten something in a LONG time and i've forgotten how good it was i'll pig out a little (eg corn chips) but it's never excessive and triggers me into eating everything.

it used to be ice cream, but i have that controlled now.

Well it's nice to think that one day I may be able to control these things.  But right now I can't imagine how that will be true for me!  I'm just too scared to even let myself be tempted.  But i really do miss having a treat every now and then.  I am still craving sugar but it seems to be decreasing a little bit.  arghhh!!!
Fresh bread or rolls right from the oven...I can't control myself!
OMG!  THAT SOUNDS SO GOOD- FRESH BREAD-YUMMY!....YES THAT IS ONE THAT I SHOULD STEER CLEAR OF TOO!!!
LOL!  death ray food!  made me laugh!

Hi - started a similar thread; it's true - FRESH BREAD AND BUTTER will get  me every time!

I stay away from the 'trigger' foods - it's better for me that way!   I do 'better' not butter!  Diane

Hear ye hear ye! Same goes for cake...and baking brownies....why do I need to cut them up into 16 or 32 or 48 pieces when it's so much easier (and more delicious) to cut into quarters....

Anyway...I have random triggers. Cereal. Soup. It's usually whatever I haven't had in a while and realized I missed once I get a taste. Chips. Endless list.

Nuts. And cereal. Omgggg
My only real trigger food is nutella. I can't stop eating when I start eating it.

Mine are pies/cakes/brownies/cookies/muffins/cinnamon buns...the works =O  And those milanos...I could down that bag in one go if I eat just one haha

But it's a lot better now...I could eat just one Luna Bar and be completely satisfied ;D

anything with sugars my trigger. All it takes is 1 taste of coke or 1 bite of something sweet. Then i fight with my self the rest of the day trying to justify a second taste or treat myself. its a battle. but my sweet tooth is losing.
Mine is definitely Pizza. I just love pizza, and once I start eating some I can't stop. I just have to completely avoid it altogether. I have been known to eat a whole Domino's pizza (thin crust, but still... BAD!)
pizza, hot-cheetos, &dark chocolate.
Definitely pizza, nachos, or anything that can be dipped. But my true weakness has to be spicy, thai Chicken wings. And, of course, my best friend works at a bar that serves the best I've tasted. Perfect! It's been over a month though.... damn! Knock on wood! KNOCK ON WOOD!!

damn you, trigger food!

mine are: cereal and anything high carb (meaning, bread, cake. gosh i love carbs)

Bread, peanut butter, chips, nuts, cereal (have you ever measured out a 3/4 cup serving of cereal and put it in a bowl?  Its enough to make a person break down emotionally)  ... pretty much anything that comes in large multi-serving bags, because I feel some sort of obligation to clean out everything in the bag/box, no matter how huge it is.  Weird.  -.-l;
