What's up with the cat profiles?

Quote  |  Reply

What is up with all of the cat profile pictures!!?

I don't really have any problem with cats.  They are very entertaining to watch (running up a tree as my dog chases them...j/k!).  But it seems very strange to me that so many profiles on cc start off with a cat photo.  I do not see many dog profiles, though I know there are a lot of dog lovers out there (can I get a "Hooyah" from all the dog lovers!)  Are you all cat people (maybe this is a time to assess yourself to see if you have become the "cat lady"...do you have more than 2 cats?...hmmm)  Or, is it an expression...cats are very expressional (Garfield had a lot to say without moving his lips)?  Is it a symbolic thing having to do with counting calories?  I donno...I just don't get it.  So, I thought I would ask you.

What's up with the cats?

You are right, the ?'s are mysterious...  You should probably ask the other 50% of profiles left with ?'s to add a picture so you can continue to be mysterious on your own.  Ah, common...not even a picture of a butterfly?  Everyone likes butterflys:)  Hey, maybe you like marbles...they would make a cool pic....or the sky...or a car...or a shoe...or a cup...or a frog...or a lamp...or a tea bag...or a .....

see, the mystery is when we know you like frogs but we have to piece everything else together.  Now thats fun.  But ?'s...well, they are typical, boring...and too trendy.

I watched the movie Birds when I was little, and birds still freak me out.

But ?'s...well, they are typical, boring...and too trendy.

To succumb to uploading an avatar would be trendy.

Just Do It, Moonie. You know you wanna. What could go wrong? ;)

I don't wanna and I'm not gonna and you can't make me. Naa Naa Na Naa Naa!

*sticks out tongue and walks aways*

I gotta say, I'm not a huge guinea pig fan.  They're twitchy.

Sha74 - I think it started in the Chat thread...you know that thread in the lounge every day that has the word "chat" in the title?  Well a site that gets brought up alot is LOL cats.  http://www.lolcats.com/

LOLcats is the fake knockoff site! Hooray for ICanHasCheezburger.com!

#27 - You can't shame me into it either.

Here is a picture of my adorable DOG!  Trefor is the tri-color corgi (the caramel one is his brother).

And I post a pic of my dog because a) he's really cute, b) it lets you know a little about me, and c) I'm still not sure I want a picture of myself up for all the world to see.  Kinda wigs me out a bit.

Dogz rule!  It doesn't matter how crappy my day has been, or who I yelled at, or who I cut off at the intersection, my dog is always delighted to see me.  I don't get that kind of unconditional love and loyalty from anyone else (which is probably good--everyone else should expect me to behave better.  But I'm glad to get it from him!)

Randy Jackson is a big fan of the DAWG pound. Tongue out

ooo hmmm....you are ashamed.  Shame isn't necessary.  Just caring beyond ourselves...which might not be typical.  Moon, we care.  No need to hide behind that tree...come join the group in a healthy conversation about cats...arg...well, can someone change the subject!  How about, dogs eating cats?  Anyone seen that lately?

Mooni - why don't you upload a picture of a question mark?  That'd be unique.

Beck, you are so right.  Thats what I love about my dog.  It doesn't matter how bad my day sucked, my dog is always happy to see me (cats are too tempermental!..ha, jk dont want to get into a cat-fight now).  It doesn't matter how crappy I have treated her all week...getting too busy or whatever...she still gets excited about the little things...like me throwing her toy across the room.

Dogs are so unconditionally loving.  We can learn so much from them.

omfg i heart me a corgi.

Cats rule and dogs drool! (I have both).

Peaches - Now that's a good idea.

purespark, I used to have one of those twitchy little buggers (he came from my daugther's 5th grade classroom so I don't blame him for the twitchness), but he died.  I got my current piggie from the local shelter and he's one laid back little dude and he's potty trained :-)

I can't agree more that birds are evil or maybe it's just parakeets.  We used to have a parakeet that would look so sweet and innocent and then bite you on the neck ... those little beaks really hurt.  I did not miss her when she flew away.

beckyeas, those are adorable little Corgis.  We have a beautiful little Shih Tzu in our family, but those Corgis are pretty high up on the cuteness scale too.

Exactly!!!  Just replace 'dog' with 'cat' for me : )

Corgis are SO cute, I love them too.

Well, a mellow potty-trained guinea pig sounds just fine in my book.  Does he use a kitty-litter box?

Kitty litter can be dangerous for guinea pigs to inhale, so he uses a box with shredded paper in the corner of his cage.  Since he likes to hang out in the kitchen, we keep a box in there too.
