What's up with the cat profiles?

What is up with all of the cat profile pictures!!? 

I don't really have any problem with cats.  They are very entertaining to watch (running up a tree as my dog chases them...j/k!).  But it seems very strange to me that so many profiles on cc start off with a cat photo.  I do not see many dog profiles, though I know there are a lot of dog lovers out there (can I get a "Hooyah" from all the dog lovers!)  Are you all cat people (maybe this is a time to assess yourself to see if you have become the "cat lady"...do you have more than 2 cats?...hmmm)  Or, is it an expression...cats are very expressional (Garfield had a lot to say without moving his lips)?  Is it a symbolic thing having to do with counting calories?  I donno...I just don't get it.  So, I thought I would ask you.

Makes sense!  Well, I'm sure your little guy is adorable.  I do think they're cute little buggers; it's just the twitchiness that bothers me, so if he's cool as a cucumber, I bet I'd love him!

Actually I'm a dog and cat person, but my cat won't stay still long enough to take a photo! I'd love to have a picture with both of them or even better of the three of us...but I don't have the patience :)

#43 - I actually went looking for question mark photos. There were a whole bunch of butterfly photos intermixed with the ?s. Weird. I can't figure out what a butterfly and ? have in common.

Hey! Birds are not evil. Well, not all of them anyway. Pet birds, well maybe sometimes. If I had wings and was stuck in a cage I'd be vindictive too.

May I add a quick statement of support for black salamanders, and amphibians in general?

 Okay, you have a point - PET birds are evil.  Wild birds are nice .   I just can't imagine having a pet that craps on you every time you hold it (can you tell I had a bad experience as a child?  My parents friends had over 20 birds, all loose in the house.  Crap everywhere...ewwwwwwww)

 hmmm...butterfly's and ?'s....I would have to say its because butterfly's ask a lot of questions.  Yeah, I am pretty sure thats it.  Can you confirm that Monarch?

#49.... feeling you on the bird thing..... wild or caged.... there is nothing nastier than bird poop.... it's all watery and white and eeewwwwww.... i just threw up in my mouth a lil!!!

#50........ HELL NAW ON THE SPIDERS!!!! i had one spin a web down to the hood of my car one evening while i watched my sons football practice..... it had blonde, crunchy looking legs and a FAT BOOTY..... i was grossed out for the remaineder of practice... i had to move my car!!!

You know..... all in all.... i am not much of an animal person at all........ i'm scared of dogs too..... and i love cats until they get that "i'm about to pounce on your foot look...."
