What's up with the cat profiles?

What is up with all of the cat profile pictures!!? 

I don't really have any problem with cats.  They are very entertaining to watch (running up a tree as my dog chases them...j/k!).  But it seems very strange to me that so many profiles on cc start off with a cat photo.  I do not see many dog profiles, though I know there are a lot of dog lovers out there (can I get a "Hooyah" from all the dog lovers!)  Are you all cat people (maybe this is a time to assess yourself to see if you have become the "cat lady"...do you have more than 2 cats?...hmmm)  Or, is it an expression...cats are very expressional (Garfield had a lot to say without moving his lips)?  Is it a symbolic thing having to do with counting calories?  I donno...I just don't get it.  So, I thought I would ask you.

You know...since people had to move to CC+, I've noticed old avatars changing alot.  I guess people forgot what theirs looked like when on CCC?

I said marbles would look cool...not eyes that look like them.  Maybe if we could see both eyes it wouldn't creep me out.

 It's a little disconcerting, but not quite freaky.

How about horse eye?  Perhaps I need to zoom in - his is blue and brown too...

I just told my dog you guys think her eye is freaky and she sighed and put her head down.  Shame on you for making my puppy sad!

haha - I actually have a horse eye - I "borrowed" it 'cause I thought it was so cool - It's part of my screen saver now.  

And yeah, you should zoom & crop yours - maybe eyes can be the new theme instead of cats...
