WHats wrong with my body?

Quote  |  Reply
I dont eat regulary because working at my dads restauraunt biz unfortunatley I cant eat whenever I would like.
Im on my feet all day with only a 30min  break for lunch. On my days off my thighs ache.
ANyway here is what I eat. Im 5"7 and 112lbs
breakfast:730am
2 slices challah bread with low fat cottage cheese and some s/f jelly
1 80 cal greek plain yogurt
some plain kefir

12pm
black coffee

lunch 4 or 5pm
dry salad-I only eat the lettuce and fresh orange pieces I put in it
apple

snack 7 or 8pm
either banana or kashi granola bar

sometimes I get some fruit to eat before I go home like watermelon or pineapple

once I get home its 11pm and I eat
quaker natural oatmeal with skim milk
1 60 cal yogurt

I have long breaks before I eat each meal and because of this I dont feel hungry and I get full so fast. Like today was my day off and I ate in more normal hours and my heart started to beat really quickly. I didnt feel so good.

My concern is if Im getting enough calories, and if what Im doing is really bad?
thanks

Based on your height...you have to be quite thin.  I think you are not taking in enough calories.  And to me, coffee only for lunch is a no-no.  Do you have a break out of what the above sample diet gives you in daily totals for carbs, protein and fats as well as total calories?

Phil

At your current height and weight, you are underweight.  You need to get up to 128 to be at the lowest weight you can be and be healthy.  It looks like you need more of a variety of vegetables, more whole grains, and more protein.

that was lindsay lohan's stats when she was bulimic.

you need to eat more hun

your breakfast sounds good, but your lunch and dinner aren't really enough for someone your height. are you vegetarian? try adding in some protein for lunch and vegetables for dinner.
DEFINITELY need to add some protein. That'll do you a lot of good!

That doesn't look like nearly enough calories for a day for someone as active as you are - standing and walking all day burns a lot of energy and you need to make it up. You're underweight for your height too... is there a reason why you don't have any animal protein in your diet? You really need to eat something at midday, and not just have coffee.

you need 1900 just to sit around and do nothing.

Im guessing that intake is 900 cals or less.

Theres a ton of things that can go wrong.
You can go blind, experience organ failure, break bones as easy as an 90 year old (fyi sometimes all it takes is a good thump or small fall), hair falls out, teeth fall out, brain damage, heart damage..blah blah blah blah.

You cant eat that low everyday. Its catching up to you. Your heart was pounding probably from the coffee and an electrolyte imbalance. Which those can kill you with a heart attack so you kinda want to avoid that.

The healthy BMI cut off is 18.5 not 20. CC just cuts it off at 20.

to polish -

"Your current Body Mass Index (BMI) is 17.5.

BMI is a standardized ratio of weight to height, and is often used as a general indicator of health. The "normal" BMI for an adult woman of your height is 18.5 to 24.9. This translates to a healthy weight range of 118 to 159 lbs."

You are slightly underweight already so you do need to up those cals. Stop using low fat(use a higher fat content), put honey, nuts, cereal in your yogurt, peanut butter for your apples, eat nuts with your fruit. The nut intake and full fat will probably bring your cals up enough so you dont feel like total crap without adding bulk or much change to your daily meals. If you still fall short have a glass of juice or milk as a drink during the day.

Its posts like this that make me sick and never want to read these forums again.

You are VERY thin and really shouldn't even be counting calories unless it is too see how close you can actually get to 2000/day.

I am really starting to dislike this website becuase of people like this!  Last week some young "former" anorexic complained she was overweight and weighed about the same as this person.

Get some self esteem...and food...FAST!

Umm... I think the OP wanted advice on whether she was eating too LITTLE (not too much) and what she could do to improve.. This was not a very nice or fair comment--or helpful for that matter.

Typically I would agree with Karen on this issue, but this post is not at all an example of what she is talking about - Tanyec is right - the OP is looking for advice on improving her health, not asking how to lose more weight.
