what's wrong with me?

Quote  |  Reply
i've been in a low mood for the past couple of days .. anyone want to guess the outcome?? BINGEING!!!

I'm comfort feeding myself on all the sugar I can possibly find, NOT GOOD

I'm so frustrated with myself, why can't I stick to this? 'm at a healthy weight, but at the rate I'm going I'll be overweight (not to mention, unhealthy) very soon.

As a recovering bulimic, its not going well. I've made myself sick a few times but mainly just keep the disgusting calories inside (disgusting because its all over-processed, sugar/fat/carb loaded excuses for "food")

I'm so upset :(

hey, we all mess up.  just try finding something that can help distract you--go for a walk or something. pick up a book--whatever it takes.  good for you for recovering, but make sure you get the help and support when you need it.
okay, let's deal head on with your problem.

1st.  get rid of the junk food.  If it's you that buys it, don't.  If it's someone else that buys it, ask them not to, or to keep it our of your sight.

2nd.  get some fresh fruits, whole grains, and vegetables into your diet.  If you are getting a balanced nutrition from foods you enjoy eating, you will not be nearly as likely to binge.  and have those fresh fruits and veggies on hand for the binging temtations.  Set yourself some rules -- you can't eat that lb. of chocolates UNTIL you've eaten 2 lbs of fruits and veggies.

3rd.  do meditation when you are stressed.  It's great for you.  you can go online to get some instructions how to do it.

4th.  love yourself, even when you fail.  we all fail.  Success is not what happens because we never fail, it's what happens because we keep picking ourselves up and starting all over again.

best wishes, and I hope you break the cycle of binge eating.
manewell could not have said it better.

I try to not allow myself to get hungry so I will keep foods on hand that I can nibble at (veggies, fruits, cheerios, popcorn, etc.) if necessary but you will find that if you eat at least three good, well-proportioned meals each day, the need for binging will greatly decrease.

Try not to dwell on error - just move on.  Nobody ever learned anything walking down easy street.  Bumps on the road make you correct your mistakes and make you smarter in choices to come.
I think craving comfort foods now and then in perfectly healthy. In fact, it is often my subconscious fending off illness (That's what I believe at least).

Don't get down on yourself for eating a bunch now and then! Just admit that you have eaten more than you planned, and savor every calorie since you know it is a "treat"!!!
