Whew this is gonna be tough..

Quote  |  Reply

I started May 20 here. Lately (for the last two weeks) I haven't been doing so well counting my calories. There are just some days that I just don't feel like it. But I have decided to start over because technically I haven't lost any weight at this point because everything that I lost I have gained back.

So I have decided to kick myself in the rear (metaphorically cuz my foot can't reach..lol) and take a 'before' pic to get myself motivated.

I don't know about everyone else but it has been a loooooooooooong time since I have let anyone take a head to toe picture of me. Honestly, Im scared what I am going to see. Hopefully it will help me get my a@@ in gear.

Its gonna be tough to look at..but I am gonna get my sister to do it for me so I can post it in the kitchen, my bedroom door, and at my desk for motivation.

And its not that I didn't already know that weight loss was hard (If it was easy I would have done it a long time ago) I guess I am just going through the processes that I have to go through, physically and emotionally that come with weight loss and a weight loss mentality. You have to put yourself in that mentality and try to keep yourself there. I think thats the hardest part.

Sorry if im blubbering..just a vent..lol.Sealed

Welcome back!  If it were easy to lose weight, everyone would be thin!

I found the most horrible fat picture of myself that I could and posted it prominently on the front of my refrigerator.  Then I found a more recent picture and put it up right next to the awful one.  It has been a great motivator to see how far I have come.

I wish you the best of luck.  Remember, you CAN do it!

Thx! I guess I was just wondering how everyone else picks themselves back up and dusts themselves off to start over when they have fallen off the wagon..lol

I know how your feeling I have been slacking on the calorie counting too.  It has been rough. It took me a long time to get into the mind set of losing weight and making the commitment.  But have faith in yourself and remember it is about making a lifestyle change.  Slow and Steady wins the race.

You can do it!!!!!

What works to motivate me is measuring myself arms, legs, waist.... because sometimes I can't always see the results in the mirror but to give it a number really helps.

It's tough, but don't give up.  I spent two years trying to lose weight.  I would lose 4 lbs and gain 3 or 5 lbs back.  I would lose the 4lbs again and vow not to put it back on, but lo and behold it came back on.  i am now beginning to lose the weight slowly, but i'm no longer gaining much of it back anymore.  Just be consistent with your exercise program and counting those calories.  It will eventually start to come off.  Sometimes it takes your body a while to adjust to your changed eating habits.  I don't know if this will help you, but most of the time I keep my calorie intake just below 1200, but that's just for me, and it may not work for you.  You'll have to find what works for you.

I hope this help keep you motivated.
