A whey shake WITHOUT sweeteners?

Quote  |  Reply

Maybe someone here can help me out please? I'm looking for a whey protein shake available in the UK, ready made or preferably powder, that does NOT have acesulfame k, sucralose, or worst of all aspartame in. Basically, I don't eat artificial sweeteners at all, end of.

Any recommendations - I was horrified how Boots and Holland & Barrett only had stuff with sweeteners in, last time I checked in with my doc she said I might benefit from a whey shake to support my workouts (which are not that intense, Im not a bodybuilder, just jogging, aerobics & handweights) while I'm still loosing weight but no way am I swallowing that kind of stuff!

I am currently trying Natural 100% Whey Gold Standard in Vanilla. It is lightly sweetened with Stevia. I'm not quite sure how its taste compares to other brands - this is my first foray into the mysterious world of protein supplements.

Thanks for the reply! Please do let me know how it works out for you.Smile

I've never taken them before either, but my doc says they might help with the weightloss/muscle building (not that i want to be like Arnie or anything!) because I don't eat any meat except chicken & fish, and so am not exactly exploding with protein...

chicken, fish, eggs, cottage cheese (and other dairy products)....all contain plenty of protein and no sweetners.  so if you need more protein and don't want sweetners, perhaps you could just eat more of these things.

Egg White protein is the purest form of protein known to man in the entire world. Each 8-ounce cup gives you 26 grams of pure protein, only 2 grams of carbohydrates, NO fat and NO cholesterol. They are 100% bio-available, which means NONE of it's amino acids are wasted. No artificial protein powder can make that claim. Other high protein sourced foods and supplements need to be broken down before the body absorbs the protein. All natural products have always been the recommended way to get the nutrients your body needs. :)
