White Rice Problem

WELL I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT I LOVE WHITE RICE AND I COOK IT EVERYDAY FOR MY FAM. I ALSO HAVE WHOLE GRAIN RICE BUT I GET TIRED OF EATING IT. AND I WOULD JUST LOVE TO HAVE WHITE RICE OFTEN BUT THE CALS AND NO NUTRTIONAL VALUE EXCEPT A LITTLE HAS GOT ME SAD DOES ANYONE EAT WHITE RICE OFTEN AND STILL LOSE THE WEIGHT I MEASURE EVERYTHING I EAT SO I JUST WANT A CUP BUT EVEN A CUP IS ALOT OF CALS CAN ANYONE HELP.... :( THANK
There's nothing wrong with eating some white rice every once in a while. As many people continue pointing out on these forums, variety is the key to diet success.
p.s. Cooked rice is not so caloric (don't remember exact numbers off the top of my head, but ~ 150 cals/cup). Are you sure you are not counting the dry rice?
I lost over 30 lbs eating white rice regularly. My daughter doesn't like brown rice.
THANKS FOR THE REPLYS I MEASURE IT COOKED BUT I THINK IM GONNA HAVE SOME TODAY IM GOING TO WORK SO I CAN BE FULL I WORK AT BENNIGINS SO I DONT WANT TO EAT THERE AT ALL THE FOOD IS GOOD BUT A HEART ATTACK WAITING TO HAPPEN. I live in Korea. I eat sticky, white rice everyday for lunch. I've lost 30lbs in 2 months. I don't think it's really that big of an issue.

a lot of Asians have eaten white rice every day for centuries. How much you eat is the problem. One cup of cooked rice is actually not a large amount to eat- Asians regularly eat at least that much with their meals. the poor generally bulk up their meals with rice. coolies - the lowest of day labourers are traditionally said to live on rice with fried onions and salt.- sounds much like the Egyptians building pyrimids ate(onion, salt, oil and grain-bread of some type?) ( of course such workers also had short lives- probebly poor nutrition combined with very hard labour) There are other benefits to rice-it is easily digested and as a result it is good for your digestive system- few people have an upset stomach problem when they eat rice. a "coolie" meal is a favourite- white rice eaten with thinly sliced onions fried till it is brown, the oil the onions were cooked in and salt to taste is very tasty.
I eat white rice regularly and i manage to lose weight. But I do eat a very less quantity and manage to eat lot of veggies.
Try swapping to basmati rice rather than long-grain... it's rather less starchy and therefore a little longer-lasting. I alternate between basmati, brown basmati and a brown rice/wild rice mix depending on the meal and, as long as I keep the portion-size light, it's been fine.
1oz any kind of rice, dry weight, is only about 100 cals... it'll at least double in size during cooking.
