WHOA! Quick weightloss!

Quote  |  Reply
Well as some of you may or may not know. I've been on this sight for a little over a week. ahem...At first i created a post cause i thought i was consuming too little cals. Well i counted those, and little did i know. I was consuming just the right amount, i just thought it was very little food.

Well its been 10 days since i started my diet. The first week of it i lost 4lbs!!! i was in total shock. However, i understood that i was drastically changing my eating habits and obviously since i was eating healthy, i was going to lose weight. I just didn't know it would be that fast.

So i weigh myself yesterday i am down 1.5lbs YAY for me right? well i weigh myself today after breakfast and hmmm...i am down another 1.5. In total it's 2lbs on just monday and tuesday.

Now while some of you may thing. "wow lucky b*" i am kinda scared. I take one a day weight smart, Flaxeed oil twice a day & i eat 5-6 meals. If i notice that i've eaten too little cals. I usually have a shake or a snack.

Now my concern is not only that this weight stays off but that i am doing it the healthy way. I am consuming at least 1200++ cals a day and working out daily for at least an hour of cardio. I'm not starving all day either. I feel satisfied and energetic all day.

Any comments?

ENJOY it!  Things will most likely taper off so enjoy while it is up there LOL.

Don't get depressed though when your body says ahhh and settles down to a slower steady loss.

Congratulations and welcome to CC
Congrats! You must feel great. If you don't mind me asking.. what are you doing for your workouts? How much do you want to lose? And what are your stats..i.e. height, weight, age? Just curious.. I am 5'2", 145lbs and 26 years old. I am eating 1300 cals per day and working out 45min to 1 hour cardio 5-6 days a week and 25 min 3-4 days a week weight training and I am having a hard time losing.
I feel a little better hearing that. I mean not that i want my weight loss to slow down. But it makes me feel better that i am not losing it the wrong way.

Thank Josal.
In the last 2 weeks I had lost 8 pounds but this week my body is slow to the change...I've only lost .5lb in the last 3 days

I guess my body finally got tired and wanted a slow down.

good luck! and enjoy!

What is the 'navy seal' diet?

Congrats on your loss!!!
well amyl, i do feel great. But i was kinda scared. For my workouts? well...

Mondays: i jog and walk for about 30 min then do the bike for about 20. After that i do some 5lb weights usually 3 sets of 10-15 reps. Then i work on the abs, with reverse crunches etc.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays: I have an aerobic merengue class [hispanic music] I usually do that for an hour and the instructor incorporates abs and weights in there too. But i don't use the weights that day, i  just follow along.

Thursdays: i work out with the b/f at the park jog to the park stretch and then do crunches, squats and lunges.

Friday: same as monday!

I am 5'2"

I started at 166

I am now at 152.5

Goal 125

I am 20 years old.

ps. I don't count my cals anymore. I feel it's frustrating. I just makes sure i use portion control and that i am not eating empty cals. What i did at first was make sure i had the cals for all the meals i was consuming then i played with them and created a meal plan. Now i just KNOW that i am consuming enough.

an idea for you:

Run intensely in the morning. Your body will burn cals up to 5hrs after that. Then in the afternoon, work out again but this time 30-40 min of walk/jog so you keep burning for 5hrs after that. Get some Flaxeed Oil & some vitamins with green tea. Those will help your metabolism.
kgladstone, i'll message you the link.

&& thanks laura, But you're still losing 5lbs in 3days thats awesome!

SHMOOPY
Thanks Shmoopy. I am very happy i am losing so quickly but i was freaked out, im sure you'd understand why. I want this to be permanent.
agape- Thanks for the reply. Sounds like you have got a good plan and you are sticking to it. I eat around 1300 cals per day M-F and around 1700 per day on the weekend. I taking boxing and kickboxing classes 4 nights a week for an hour (abs, lunges and push ups are incorporated) and I either walk 3 miles or bike 12 miles 1 or 2 days a week.. and I am at a hault. I think I will try running in the am.. although I am not a very stron runner so maybe I will bike?? We'll see... I am hoping that this weight will start to melt off soon.. God knows I am trying!
Not 5 pounds in 3 days but 1/2 pound in 3 days...
This has been my experience.  I've lost 22 pounds since May 18 or so, so that's a couple of pounds a week.

Seems to be tapering off, though.  Lost a single pound this past week.  We'll see what happens.
It's normal to have a quick drop in the first week or two (for me it was 7 lbs in the first six days). It will stabilize to a steady and healthy loss. You're doing great!
Thanks all for the replies. I really feel soooo much better. The last thing i want is to be unhealthy. I hope i am like dnrothx and lose all the weight quick. =] I want to lose it in time for my 21st bday but then again, i'm not starving myself.

amyl, I thought i wasn't a strong runner at first. I had a pinched nerve in the back of my left leg and i was getting regular chest pains. Now i don't even think i have the pinched nerve and my chest pains are GONE! plus i do a jog/walk combo for 30 min. Your intensity level may not be my intensity level. Run as much as you can. Remember your body can take 10% more than what your mind thinks it can take. Oh and don't binge on the weekends try to forget saturdays and sundays exist.

Sorry laura i mis-read. =]

Thanks for the advice all!
I am having a hard time. I'm about to turn 49. I'm 5.2inches and after months of getting the scale to go towards the downward side, this morning it's almost 2 pounds over the MAX weight limit I set for my self -- OK, 171.5.  I've been down around 164 and headed downward, really just up and down. I believe I've got the thyroid thing under control. I'm taking synthroid 75 mg. I am committed to doing cardio everyday for at least 20-30 minutes, but I'm just so tired. I don't sleep well. I'm eating healthier (look at quinoa [grain w/high fiber] ) and I'm hungry. I really appreciate this website. My dream is to become a runner (Like the rest of the world!!) ... but I also enjoy swimming. I'm hoping that dragging myself to the gym & working out will give me some kind of energy.  I think that working out in the morning is going to be the best thing for me.  I'm rambling now. I want to take a nap. Thanks for listening & I'll be back to read more. This website really does make a difference!!
Anybody have any experience, negative or positive, with the Hydroxycut (or the equivalents) and now this Allee (Ally something) pill stuff?  I'll browse the other forums. thanks again!
scdamatt, i don't really know why you're gaining weight but my guess is that you're not exercising enough. I know it's hard at first to drag your self to the gym but after a week or so you will have energy. Try and find something that makes you want to go. i.e a dance class or something. I have a tuesday and wednesday aerobic class and i would not miss it for the world. =]

& diet is not just about changing the cereal it's about changing your whole way of life.

ps. Hydroxycut works if it doesn't give you a heart attack first. =P i know it's not the best thing to joke about but all those "fat burners" have caffeine. I have tried Hoodia, slimquik, & Herbalife.  PILLS ARE NOT THE WAY TO GO. Especially if you want permanent results.

Good luck.
