Who'd a thunk it?

Quote  |  Reply

Today I decided to wash my suburban rather than going to the car wash. I was curious at how many calories I would burn doing it. I swept the interior by hand, did the windows inside and out, Cleaned the seats with leather cleaner and cleaned the rims. I didn't go particularly fast because the day was rather nice so it took almost 2 hours.

When it was all over I checked my HRM and was pleasantly surprised to find that I had burned 1224 calories and spent a decent amount of time in my zone.

I've decided to wash my car at home once a month for the health benefits. =)

Whoa! I should go into the car detailing business with those kinds of numbers ;P Who would have thunk it??!

Thanks for sharing that!

And nice job on the Suburban :)

It's not something I could do on a daily basis, but best of luck with your business venture.  =P

hee hee hee!

that's awesome! yeah, things like that really add up. this winter i had to shovel my entire (iced over) driveway, and it took me about an hour--- but I burned a butt load of cals doing it! and my car got in and out of the driveway much easier. :)

go you!
