So who's not getting vaccinated against swine flu?
Also why do hate children, pregnant mothers and old people?
*^5*
I'll get the vaccine when it's available. I don't want to make other people sick, especially since I have a few pregnant friends.
i'm not getting the vaccine because i don't trust it. might be an irrational fear, but i have it all the same. i've never gotten a flu vaccine and never plan to.
I'm a bit skeptical about it, but that's simply because I'm extremely paranoid when it comes to stuff like that.
I have asthma, so more than likely I'll get it. Plus I'm working in a pharmacy right now. Tons of parents come in with their sick kids hacking all over the place..and they're usually picking up tamiflu, which more than likely means they have swine flu.
I probably already have it :/
I've never gotten a flu vaccine and I'm not starting now. If the elderly, pregnant, etc. don't want to catch it then by all means they can have my vaccination.
Anyway, I think I already got the swine flu last spring when it went round the first time. Other than that I have never gotten the flu.
I'm not getting either flu vaccine. I rarely get the flu. I got the flu last year and it was the first time in over 25 years that I've had the flu. I'm good for a long time to come.

i'm with jules on this one. never had the flu shot. won't be getting the swine flu shot. sorry.
I'm not planning to. Mostly because it's not available here. We're kinda in the center of where everything started, so EVERYONE's trying to get the vaccine. Most doctors aren't going to be able to get their hands on it unless they work with high risk populations. Since I tend to be a relatively healthy person, I refuse to take a dose away from a child, pregnant woman, or elderly person who has a much higher chance of being affected than I do.
If it was a simple matter of going to get the shot, I probably would since I have a few friends who are preggers, but my boss can't even get it and her daughter is pregnant.
Well, I hate children because they are disgusting little monsters, pregnant mothers because they are just making more disgusting little monsters, and old people because they are cranky and watch The Price is Right.
Eh, just kidding. I'm actually getting vaccinated. I work with college students and they are very talented at sharing germs. I don't want to be the one to pass the flu on to all the disgusting little monsters and cranky old Bob Barker fans in my life.
I'll get the regular flu but not H1N1 unless/until they have enough vaccine to cover the high risk groups.
My kids plus a breast feeding friend of mine are in the high risk groups and cannot find the vaccine. DD's college had some, but ran out super fast.
Until supplies are increased, I don't feel right potentially taking it away from someone in the high risk group.
Probably will when it becomes readily available...dunno. Don't hang much with young, gestating or geriatric people.
Not me! I'm more worried about the vaccine than actually getting the flu. I rarely get sick, anyway (I think the last cold I had was about 3 years ago), so there's no point in getting vaccinated for something I'd probably get less sick with in actually catching it!
But that's me :)
I'm not getting it because I'm not in a high risk group, there's a shortage, and I'd rather the people who need it most get it first.
I hate children because they're noisy self centered petri dishes, pregnant women because they're emotional and obsessed with pastel colored clothes, old people because they smell like Ben Gay and drive too slow.
So for those opting out of vaccination, because it's a government plot to steal your cheese (or whatever perfectly rational reason you have) are you going to be in contact children, pregnant mothers or old people within the next 3-4 months or do you have a concrete plan to alienate yourself from a good portion of society?

actually, i won't be.
i work in an office with people in the age range deemed safer from the flu.
none of my friends are pregnant and/or have any babies.
and i live on my own.
and the vaccine is available for these groups, yes?

I'll be in contact with 2 kids regularly, ages 9 & 12. I'm more in danger of them giving me something than me giving them something.
I avoid pregnant women like the plague.
The only old person I'm likely to around is my future MIL. I'll let you guess how I'd feel about giving her the flu.

guess you missed the posts where folks pointed out that there is a shortage of the vaccine and they'd rather the at risk people have them first?

This. Except the last part - I haven't had the flu in 3 years.

they are at risk. I'm a contributing member of society. They get to be hermits.
