Wide Width Feet/Shoes

Quote  |  Reply
So I thought wide feet had nothing to do with weight, you either had wide width feet that required the right shoes or you didn't. I'm noticing that my wide width shoes are all now big on me... could it be the weight loss, I lost 20 lbs so far....

yup.. your feet will get "thinner"  i used to be in a extra width shoe.. now i'm just in a wide.. it's so cool!  :)
That is pretty cool, more selection! No more buying one size bigger if they don't have the WW!
I remember that my family has always had "skinny" feet so one day a few years back when I discovered I needed WW I was very shocked. I'm now very pleased that I'm back in a "normal" width shoe. Much better selection!
My feet are still wide.  And do you know how impossible it is to find 9W shoes?  Or regular shoes wide enough to just slip on? (cause I hate tying my casual shoes!!!!)
My feet are wide also but I've noticed since I've lost some weight my shoes have gotten a little loose on my feet.  I had wide feet long before I gained weight, but my feet did get wider after the weight gain.
The suck part is I don't have the $ to buy all new shoes... so here I am at the hosptial, strutting down the hallway almost falling over because my shoes are slipping off.

I'm glad to be back in FL Finewine, flip-flop city!!! Wish I could wear 'em to work....
Ever since I gained weight from 3 pregnancies, I went from size 8 1/2 to 10 W. I really hope after losing more weight I will wear "normal" size again. BTW, a great place for shoes for any size and width is zappos.com.
If i could wear flip flops year round...I would.  god i love them...
I feel like making everyone jealous:

I CAN wear flip-flops to work! :)

(and I currently am)
Way to rub it in!
Don't to pick on supersized, I can wear them too. Sorry.
The same thing happened to me.  I had for the longest time worn 9 wide, more for the wide than for the 9.  I'm down to an 8 standard now, which is great since my toes actually end up where they're supposed to be!

You've given me hope!  I am so sick of trying to find shoes that fit.  Now I'm really pumped - my feet will get skinny too!!!
So will your fingers.  I was an 8 when I was younger and now my ring size is 9.  I need to get back to that 8 so I can fit into my old rings :-).
I've had wide feet (4E) my whole life. And after losing about 40 lbs... Still the same width. Its annoying to have to try and find shoes in my size. But... you know what they say about guys with wide feet... wide socks ;)
I've loss 31 pounds and my wide width shoes are slipping up and down on my feet.  When I went shopping for shoes I was able to wear some Medium Width Shoes and I even went down 1 shoe size.  Some shoes depending on the cut and style still require that I wear a wide width shoe however, dropping the pounds helped alot.  I still have a long ways to go but I'm taking one day at a time.  I had wide feet though even before I gained all this weight.  I'm pretty interested in seeing what size shoe I will wear after I'm down to my goal weight of 130 pounds.  God is sooo Good.
fine wine,  9-9.5 wide - impossible to find - especially in a good shoe.  I am still wearing wides but they are getting looser - trip isn't it.
well unfortunatly, my feet are still wide, despite losing alot of weight :s  They are the same size too.  Oh well.  My ring size when from an 8 to a 5.5 though, that was pretty cool.

Yeah, and it's hard to find nice dress shoes for women with wide feet :(  I went into a shoe store not long ago and none of the shoes fit me at all!  I even tried 2 sizes bigger, but they were still too narrow.  None of the boots fit either.  I guess I just naturally have wide feet along with large calfs.
My feet were always slightly on the wide side, but they got way wider with my weight gain.  I'm not sure if they've gone down or not.  Today I wore some tennis shoes that used to bother me in the width and they seemed fine, so who knows.

My Grandmother's feet always swelled at night, and now mine do to.  I guess it is in the genes, as is my frame...I look like a lady football player.  Bottom line is that even when I loose weight, I still have trouble with shoes.  Not that my foot is that wide, it is that TALL from the swelling.  Anyone know where in the world I can get a comfortable (extra wide) flip flops for the summer?  I don't have a ton of money, but I really need something.  I have a tendancy to run outside for the mail or to weed my raised veggie garden in bare feet because shoes are such a struggle, especially later in the day.  I cut my foot the other day on a sharp stone I guess, and today I stepped down hard on something barefoot and now my "good" foot is sore on the bottom, making walking even harder!
