I have the wii and opted for the AE active sport (with the leg band) instead of the wii fit, for now. It has a pre-programmed 30 day challenge. I was wondering if anyone has had success with this challenge and maybe looking for a motivation partner.
I love this, I honestly don't think the Wii Fit is as effective for getting a good cardio exercise. I'm currently using the "more exercises" version, doing the 6 week challenge.
I haven't seen any improvement in my weight, but thats because I was not handling my food intake well. I have to say though, I have definitely seen and increase in my strength (especially my thighs...stairs are so easy now!) and energy level. I find the workouts fun, and I have been enjoying the newer version much more than the old one...I think the variety is a nicer for me, and alot of the arm exercises are done in a lunge position, which has done wonders for strengthening my lower back and improving my posture.
I have completed the first version of the EA Active challenge and now I am about half thought the 60 day challenge for EA Active more workouts.
I wouldn’t say that I lost a lot of weight using those two games, but I definitely shrink and gain lots of muscle. I lost a lot of inches along the thighs and belly. It also helped me with my cardio a lot.
I would say that at first I had a lot of trouble finishing the two circuits fast kick-up in the first EA active. My hearth was pumping so hard, so I had too stopped at each 0.5 and I had muscle strain like almost every day. (High Intensity)

The kick-ups were ridiculous on the original one. I like the new version since kick-up segments are shorter, and I can really push myself the entire time. That is probably my favorite thing about the new one; the cardio stuff is bursts of running punctuated by either kick-ups and high knees (in island runs) or various obstacles (essentially a number of reps of lunges, jumps, squats, etc). It keeps my heart rate up without the long periods of repetitive motion, which has done wonders for my knees and ankles.
I agree. The kick ups are just insane, but I still like the first EA active better, because of the schedule (2 days, 1 day off, 2 days …. vs. 2 days, 1 day off, 2 days, 2 day off, 2 days, 1 day off ….) and also because it doesn’t go over the directive on how to place your nunchuck every time you try an new exercise. Also, it seems to be more fragile to your movement, sometimes I just flinch and a lunge is completed.
Also, I have a lot of trouble with water skiing in More Workout. I only get like a few flag per round. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Do you have problem with the water skiing?
In terms of the schedule, I pretty much ignore the schedule that is set up for me (I can't even remember what I set it to). I just workout when I want to...if you are on a rest day, just click the "workout #__" at the bottom of the screen, and get started! I have pretty much been doing it every day, and if I don't do the challenge workouts on a day, I'll do a custom workout (light ones for me are mostly arm stuff, like cardio boxing and squash; a harder one would be alot of cardio stuff, or one of the premade cardio workouts).
I haven't had too much trouble with the water skiing, I usually get them all or just miss one. Just squat as low as you can, and turn the remote so its almost vertical (I usually just turn until I can't go farther to that side), then stand up. Make sure to not have your feet too far apart, so that when you stand up it will register as being high. If you can give me more info about what you are doing, I might be able to figure out how to help you better.
That’s great! I didn’t know you could do that
I will try the water skiing tonight. I will let you know how well it went.
Thank you for responding
I'm a very beginning exerciser, so I'll admit that Wii Active was definitely a challenge, but, after continuing the thirty day challenge, my fitness level has shot way up! There is one activity on the game called Inline skating, that I can't seem to get the hang of. Overall, I'd rate it as far more challenging than either wii fit or wii fit plus, but an excellent workout. The marathon session is my goal!
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
