Has anyone else got the wii fit?

What do you think about it?

I quite like it, it keeps check of your BMI, weight etc. (even though your mii does blow up in size... or is that just me?)

Anyone else got any thoughts on it?

YEah I run on my treadmill for the free run. I suck at keeping a pace apparently when I jog in place.

How accurate is the free run? I had the control between my pants and my undies (sorry if that's TMI, but I'm trying to explain!) and I did 3.175 miles in 20 minutes. That cannot be right, as my best mile time ever was 12 minutes!

P.S. - If you can do the free run, do it! I just make a mix of songs and run run run. It's the most serene feeling afterwards!

I was looking through and haven't seen anyone review the cordless wii numchuck. I was really interested in getting one to see if it would help me with the boxing . I always get tangled up.So did anyone try the cordless remote?
anyone ?

I have been using wii fit for 2 months now with a combination of wii sports training, the boxing, working the bag. I have lost 21lbs on there and have clocked up 40 hours exercise and have a gold fit piggy Laughing I have lost 5" off my waist and 5" off my hips. I must say that this has been fantastic for me. I do 30 mins hulahoops and steps first thing in the morning followed by 15mins boxing on wii sports. I do 20mins hulahoops in the afternoon and 10mins boxing. I never enjoyed exercise as much. My thighs, bum and tum have toned up lovely and everyone comments on it. The hulahooping really gives a good work out and although the steps do not really, I just take bigger strides and that increases the impact. A big thumbs up for me!!

The only downside is, it encourages you to do a body test every day, even though the experts tell you to weigh no more than once a week. Everyone knows that weight can fluctuate from day to day. It does tell you that if you weigh at different times of the day, for example if you weighed at 9am one day and 3pm the next. However it does not mention that if you weighed at the same time. It is not always possible to know why you may gain weight from day to day, so the options it gives are not really good options. So when you tick the option "I don't know" it gives you a little telling off. For someone who has suffered ED, this is not a good thing to hear, and weighing everyday is not good either, made worse by rewarding the body tests with a stamp!!

Its been fun reading everyones comments on the wii fit. I just got mine Tuesday evening and only got to do the balance stuff. I had surgery on Wed so I am not going to get to use it until Monday. Cant wait to try it out.

I get so mad that it fusses at me for gaining more than a pound in one day and lectures me. It never gets excited if I LOSE more than a pound n one day. I just have to ignore the little wiiboard and keep on trucking.

I have noticed that I lose weight more if i do more hula hoops and less strength. Part of me feels I should focus on doing aerobics more until I'm slimmer and then go back with strength.

Right now my routine is 15 minutes strength, 20 minutes aerobics, 20-30 minutes yoga. I think i shoudl up the aerobics for a little while.

congrats on the 20! I haven't lost 10 yet with wii fit, but I think my body went into shock once I started exercising so it took a bit before I started losing again.

I upped the strength exercises and my weight loss has slowed right down as well. Thing is, I have lost 37lbs now through just cardio and healthy eating, and I am now concious that I need to tone up as I have lots of little loose wobbly bits. I still have at 25lbs to lose before I am at "ideal" weight for my height, so I don't know whether to up the cardio and slow up a bit on the muscles for now!

I found that when I started Wii Fit my weight loss actually slowed a lot.  It slowed almost to stopping for the first month and then it bounces down a little.  Now I'm creeping back up but I've definitely lost inches, which is good.

I am bummed today, though, since I gained from yesterday even though I behaved with my eating.  I've actually eaten well the past three days, staying between 1400-1500 calories but oh well.

You should measure yourself every month or so to keep up with the inches that you are losing.  Just watching weight can become depressing and stuff.

i finally managed to track down a wii fit today and am going to pick it up after work! only 6 hours to wait until work finishes.... twiddles thumbs... IM SO EXCITED!!!

I wish they had an extension for the Wii fit that allowed your "steps" to be harder (for the step aerobic free style routine under aerobics). I find myself lifting my knees really high just so I raise my heart rate.

I think its great that it has an extremely accurate scale.

I agree with you. On the steps I now make sure I make much bigger steps. I must look really weird on it. Laughing An extention to make it higher would be a good idea. I was wondering if I could get my clever husband to make me a step for it to sit on just for the steps. I am not sure how accurate it would be, but it might be worth a try. I have taken up other exercise now, cycling, walking and swimming. I still use the wii fit to top up on days when I am not doing other things. It's really helped me to stay focused!! I would still recomend it to anyone starting out on the exercise road.
