Wii Fit for exercise?
I just began using Wii Fit in combination with my new and healthier eating habits.
I have been mixing up my 30-40 minutes on the Wii Fit by using the strength training, yoga, and aerobic exercises. Maybe I'm just out of shape, but it makes me sore in places I didn't know I could work.
Anyone else using or has used the Wii Fit?
I don't get much time to go to an actual gym, so I thought this was the perfect Christmas gift!
I use my wii fit everyday, I do half an hour of the running, but i go on my cross trainer rather than running on the spot, i do the yoga and muscle stuff on the weekends along with the other games.
It's really helping me stay motivated.
It can make my muscles ache after using it too so I'm assuming it is doing some good. Though I got a bit put off when it told me I was heavier than my weighing scales did and I know that they are correct...
OH! i haven't tried weighing myself on my actual scale. i figured i would just use the Wii in coordination with this website to attain my goals.. but now i'm thinking i should check it to see if it is off :/
my boxing aerobics was unlocked for me yesterday, and i did it twice and i'm feeling the paaaain today!
i'm glad to see that other people use it too :)
the wii fit scales are much nicer to me than my real scales but they're only at the most 3lbs off which in the grand scheme of things isn't alot, as long as the scales go down it's all good.
I had not used my fit in awhile and started up again a couple of days ago. I did the boxing and really focused on throwing my punches.....I am still sore on my sides.
And I had been having trouble getting a good nights sleep for three or four nights leading up to it, so it made me sleep like a baby since I did it right before bed!
I also love soccer. I really get into it, work up a sweat and I can feel it the next day in my abs!
i've heard of fit scale issues on both sides (too high & too low). my question is why type of floor (carpet, tile, etc.) are you using it on. i know that standard scale instructions make a big deal about not using them on carpet.
Im still trying to purchase the Wii Fit!LOL Its all sold out around here. The Wii Fit is the main reason I bought a Wii console, so to hear how fun it is makes me want it even worse!LOL
we got a Wii fit for Christmas this year and I have been working out almost everyday. I do a round of Yoga, then strength (which I hate) and then aerobics and finish with balance games for a fun cool down. as far as the wieght differnce I noticed my scale is 4 pounds heavier. But my scale is on hardwood and my Wii is on carpet.
I have noticed my stomach muscles aching but it is fun and I don't feel like it is a chore (good thing). I am wondering already if they are coming to come out with some different aerobics I imagine that it will not be long before I get bored with the ones on there.
We also got the work out for Wii with Jillian from Biggest loser and I personally think it is a waste of money.
I was finally able to find one on Sunday after a month and a half of haunting every store in a twenty mile radius. So far, I am loving it! I live out in the middle of nowhere, and the closest gym is a half hour's drive, so I got it to help keep me some with the fitness portion of my weight loss plan. Without it, I would probably just run on my treadmill.
I have used it for a minimum of a half hour every day since I got it, though I am aiming for a full hour. My muscles are a little sore the next day, but I guess that just means it is working something. I start out with the yoga to help stretch and loosen myself up, followed by fifteen minutes of the aerobics, then I do fifteen minutes of the strength training, and I end with some of the balance games for my cooldown. It is fun (except for the strength training, which I hate), and the hour is over before I even realize it.

Me too! Been trying to get one for more then two months but if you're not at the stores early in the morning when they are put on the shelves, then you're out of luck! And I refuse to pay the ridiculous prices on eBay, etc., when it retails at only $90!!! I was able to find the console without any problems.
After reading these posts, I can't wait to get mine. Thanks for the great feedback.
We got our Wii Fit for Christmas and LOVE it. It really is so much fun. Makes exercising fun. I hate to exercise and really can't get in the habit of doing any exercising, but with the Wii, you are exercising and having fun at the same time. I really enjoy it a lot. Doing the Hula Hoop portion is really so much fun. I hadn't used a Hula Hoop since I was a little girl. It really gives you a work out. I was sweating after I played for a while. Lots of fun.

I have hardwood floors in my house, so that's what the wii board sits on. Hope this helps
The Wii Fit comes with an extra set of feet that you use when you are using the Wii Fit on carpet. We have carpet through out the house, and the Wii Fit works just fine on the carpet.
We got a Wii Fit about a week ago and the whole family loves it. I have been sweating with it and my muscles do get sore so I am sure that it is working. My two sons, 5 and 3, love doing the yoga and they love to run with me. I unlocked the boxing today so I am excited to try it tomorrow and see how hard it is. Glad that there are some other people on here who are using it as well. Like some others that I have seen comment on here, it is just too difficult for me to make it to the gym since I hate to take the time from my boys. With this, I can do it at home with them and they are seeing how their parents are trying to get fit. Pretty cool lesson for them to learn.
I just got one today! It was a lot of fun. I only did 20 minutes - but boy did i feel it. Those strength training excerises kicked my butt! I wish it would tell me how many calories I have burned though - like ddr does.
I see that people are saying the wii fits are acouple pounds off their actual weight. I just got one last night and mine is on carpet but is 50 lbs. off. Don't get me wrong it I wish I weighed as much as it says, but it's not even close. Should I take it back? Or is there a setting I need to adjust?
Thanks for any help!
^there should have been lil legs to put on your board if you have carpet. If they are on, Id contact the manufacture. My fit is pretty dead on with my normal scale, even dead on with the scale at my gym and thats a real scale.
I have to warn everyone who doesnt know. Stretch before playing lol. I was playing the boxing and I threw a punch and pulled a muscle in my back. It killed for the rest of the day and ruined my work out.
The Wii Fit comes with an extra set of feet. The extra set of feet are for if you are using it on carpet. I used mine with and without the feet and it does make a big difference. I just saw the Wii Fit at Best Buy on Sunday. So, they are around, you just have to keep your eye open for them. I Love working on the Wii Fit. Gets my butt up off the couch and actually makes working out fun!!!
Hi,
I am definitely a proponent of Wii Fit. My 14 year old son lost 20 pounds (he was 180 lbs.) He looks great and feels great.
We work out about an hour on the Wii Fit. We start out running the island run for 10 minutes then hula hoop for 10 minutes then box 10 minutes. We wear heart monitors and determined the hula hoop gets the heart rate up very high. The step does not boost the heart rate that much. I even strapped on 20 lbs ankle weights and I still didn't see any remarkable change.
After about 30 minutes of aerobics in the zone we move on to strength. The exercise where you lie down and then get up with your arm is to remaining straight up for 30 times each side. Then the plank pushup for 20 times. WE do the jackknife for 20 times or more. Then we move on to the yoga moves. We finish off with the balance games.
I'm glad we got the heart monitors. We can rate the intensity and get much better work outs in for the time we put in.
My take on Wii Fit.
