Or even just the Wii--Anybody have one? How useful is it to your fitness/weightloss goals? I really, really want one.
xx
the wii active does not have any weight restrictions. It is all based on what you can do physically. There are diffrent programs and choose what you can do.
LazyLady, did you get on the Fitness Coach program yet? I'm intrigued, because you said it lets you enter in what type of equipment you have. I have a new exercise ball, but HATE the video it came with and need some fresh, fun ideas. Let me know that you think of the program!
Ok, so let me give you the scoop. I started using Wii exercise programs in May. Since then I have lost 44 pounds. I have lost 52 pounds total since April....I am finally below 200 pounds for the first time in 5 years. I love the Wii games so I thought I would probably like Wii fit. I used the Wii Fit for about 2 months. I primarily did the cardi exercises - stepping, hula hooping and running for about 30 minutes. Occassionally I would do the strenght exercises. My husband loved the Yoga and still does it...In the beginning of July I got the EA Active and have been using that ever since. I have done the 30 day challenge and I will finish this on Saturday. Most of these exercises are for toning and cardio. So I will tell you, it works if you use it and it is really motivating. The really great thing is I started out at a 36.8 BMI and the Wii said "That's Obese" yesterday my BMI was 29.5 and all it said was "That's overweight" which to me is great. I highly recommend the Wii exercise products. By the way, I also eat about 1300-1500 calories and walk for 35 minutes 3X a week. I exercise more because I want to lose weight faster.
I have Wii Fit, EA Active Sports, Gold's Gym Cardio Boxing and just got Wii Fit Plus. I would have to say out of all the exercise "games" the cardio boxing gives me the best overall workout. My wife and I both use the Wii for all of our exercise regime. I have lost over 40 lbs since starting with around 80 to go to reach my goal.
Another good "game" if you like dancing would be Dance Dance Hottest Party 2. We alternate between each to give ourselves a balanced workout.
I do not have a a wii myself but my tia (aunt) has one with all the sports games and things of that nature and when I get a chance I love it! it works really well the only problem is I can't be on it all the time. I'm sure you'll absolutely love it. I do and it's not even mine. The games are so interactive and great...I even love my little chunky avatar lol
I have wii fit plus and I love it more than wii fit. There is skateboarding, gosh I can't even remember. Workouts can be customized for a length of time. I can only exercise for about 8-10 minutes at a time. So I rotate a couple of minutes of sitting with exercise off and on all day.Considering it is only $20 oh yeah its worth it. I am wondering about wii active. I do have some physical limitations because of an illness I wouldnt want to spend the money and waste it. I have pre-ordered wii shape that comes out next month.
I love the Wii Fit!!! I got it for Christmas last year and even if I don't use it for exercise everyday, it helps to keep track of my weight!!
I bought the Jillian Michaels game and it's too complicated and not fun :( I want to get the Wii Fit Plus
Jaxgirl-
I am longing for the day that my squeaky-voiced Wii no longer says "That's Obese!"
Congratulations on your progress!
Those of you with the Wii Fit Plus...how are the aerobic options? I have regular wii fit and I wish boxing was different and more strenuous.
