Wii Training?

Quote  |  Reply

Our family recently got the Wii for last Christmas and by george, I can work up a sweat.   the bowling seems like being there on the ally.   Other games like running in place is one that gets my heart pumping too.

I don't know if I'm as good as the kids on the games, but this Wii seems to be one way to get fit?   It's been a little while since we had it out and playing it...but my wife and I both agree we need to challenge each other to a Wii olympic games...

Anyone else use the Wii for some of their exercise programming?

We just got the Wii Active this week and haven't tried it yet.  I plan to start the 30-day challenge program today.  It sounds like a fun way to exercise.

I did a little research as my favorite WII game is Tennis. It said that you have to stand up and actually pretend you are playing, in other words, go thru the motion's of your sport. I found that you can burn an extra 200 calories an hour playing tennis!

My whole family started the Wii Active 30-day challenge and we've done our first week.  I like the way it mixes up exercises...some cardio, some upper body, some lower body.  You really get a workout in just 20 minutes a day.  And it tracks how many calories you're burning.  The tennis sounds like fun, althrough in the workout, I have about as much trouble hitting the ball in the game as I do in real life.

I started with Wii sport and also love the Tennis, but after starting with Wii Fit I dropped the fun stuff and went to a strict work out.  I am down 54 pounds from my highest weight last November.  I attribute the biggest part of this result to Wii, the rest is not eating late at night, adding a mid morning and mid afternoon snackand eating a more healthy diet.  I am interested in finding new games now as my weight loss has slowed to a crawl.  I've only lost about two pounds this month.  I look up Wii Active mentioned by aztwinmom and see if that might help.  Glad to find more Wii users!

I am happy to hear someone has lost weight using the Wii.  I'm really hoping to take off some weight and become healthier.  I really like the Wii Active routines and I was amazed at how much of a workout it is.  (And how out-of-shape I've become.)
