How do I keep my celery from going wimpy after just two days?

As soon as you get the celery home from the store, unwrap it, make sure it's dry, then wrap it tightly in aluminum foil and store in the crisper drawer.  To use, open the foil, take out what you want, and close it back up again.  It will keep for weeks (yep, weeks!)
Thank you.  I wasn't even putting it in the crisper.  HeHe I know that was bad.
Hey, cool. We've never used aluminum foil.

What else is foil good for, claire?

(wimpy wimpy wimpy! Hefty! Hefty! Hefty!)
HK, I understand that if you wrap yourself in foil and make a pointy foil hat, it will repel the spy rays sent by aliens.
So chocorific tells me, though I suspect it's too late for her ;)

But I was referring to fruits and/or vegetables :)
I suppose it would work for leafy greens like lettuce, but I eat that up too fast.  Somewhere we had a post about storing produce.  I'm off to find it.
I trim it up and stand it in a cold glass of water in the fridge or float it in a covered bowl of water. Stays nice and crisp and clean, haha.
Thats funny HK.  I forgot about that commercial.

Since I am eating healther I definately need to learn how to handle fresh food.  I'm trying to stay away from the frozen and canned stuff.  I've been going to the grocery store 2-3 times a week to get new produce.  And it will save money if I don't have to throw it away because I don't know how to keep it fresh.

Claire- I printed out the post.  I think I need to start a binder to keep all this info in.
