Winning by Losing (formerly New Here, Lost 3 lbs (w00t)

Quote  |  Reply

Hey everybody.

I just joined a little more than a week ago.

I am here to lose 55 pounds, which is very daunting to me. My weight gain is the result of two pregnancies in two years.

I'm 5'10", and when I got pregnant, I weighed 160 pounds. By the time I had my second child 8 and a half months ago, I weighed 235. I have on and off dieted, and as of today I am 204.8 pounds.

Anybody looking for a buddy to lose pounds with? We can be 'losers' together, hehe.  I'd like to do weekly weigh ins with someone, and give and receive support. Anybody interested?

Hey stacey,

keep modivated this is our only way to sucess. I also did pretty good this week i think part of it was that i was sick but i am ready to go on. I weight in on Saturday and it read 223.8 which equal 3lbs less from my last weight in so in total i have lost 16.2

Thanks for the encouragement Berenice.  Yeah I have only been on CC for a bout 2 months but I have been working on loosing this last 25lbs for about 6 months now and in total I am only down about 6 pounds which can definately be frustrustrating.  A pound a month is slow going!  I have bought one of those pinch test things that is digital and measures body fat, of course i can't be sure i am using/doing it right but at least if i am doing it wrong i'll be consitantly wrong and can track my progress/fat trend.  I think verses being caught up on the scale number if i can see progress in another way then i might find the motivation to stick with it.

I hope you are feeling better and skinny thoughts for this week :-)

Stacey, if it helps when i decided to do a change was a month before i joined CC the first month i didnt loose a single thing however i lost inches like crazy so sometimes the weight doesnt come easily and catches up but also consult your MD to make sure nothing else is going on 6 months and only 6 lbs makes you think

Ok ladies this week was crazy from me i tried to get back into action and i sorta did still couldnt workout as much as i wanted because of a horrible cough any how for the first time in my journey i am up well that is what i think since once more the scale kept going back and forth so i dont know if i stay the same or gain it kept going from my last week weight in to 224.4 so i judge it as a gain of .6 lbs. So i am not taking it personal but this week to come i will not let it happen again.

Ok so my weight was up but my size/inches are the same.  I am wondering if that means it just water weight?  I am going to tell myself it is and continue to plug away at my goal.

Bernice - i did go to the DR and "we can't find any reason so it must be your genetics" how frustrating...i realize my family genes aren't the best and i am the smallest person in my family, but that doesn't make me feel any better when i am still 20-30 lbs over weight.  That just tells me the rest of my family is more overweight.  I have decided not to allow "genetics" determine my size.  i will allow it to remind me i may never be a size 2 but that is not the goal anyway so i press on.  The goal is a size 6 and genes or not that seems reasonable to me.

Good Luck everyone and lots of weight loss this week!

Hello I know that counting calories is the cornerstone for losing weight, but what you eat is just as important as what you don't eat. Look in to the Genotype Diet and Blood Type Diet by Dr. D'adamo. Switching to a diet specific for my genotype I lost 13lbs since September 19, and that's pretty good considering I was on a plateau for a long time struggling with the last 20. I still have a little way to go but it sped up my sluggish thyroid and I feel all around so much better because of it.

Ok Ladies i dont know whats going on with me i am kind of giving up i gain weight this past weekend. I am so mad because i went with a dietician gave her copies of my food hournals and guess what she said i am doing great and than what heappens i start gettign less interested. Is time  to get my act together because i cant work out until my MD release me to due to a possible herniated disk in T-spine.

Hey Ladies...... I hope you all will have a great Turkey day.... I am up this week.  I haven't been consistant with the gym or my eating so i guess it is to be expected.  Also, i think i am just not as motivated since the scale isn't really moving.  I am going to work on a little self motivation and getting back in the gym 5 days a week. I have a formal event on the 5th and not that i can loose 10lbs by then but i would like to be a little more toned and feel better.  The goal till then 30 min of cardio  6 of the next 10 days and core/ab work 7 of the next 10 days.  I'll let you know how it goes.

Good Luck and skinny thoughts :-)
