What was or wiould be your 'wedding song' or songs?

I married for the first (and only?) time at 38.  I had what the shoe people called the "rainbow" wedding.   One of my main songs was "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and I had my bridesmaides dressed in different jewel toned bridesmaids dresses.  And of course, their shoes had to match.  I had purple, yellow/gold, burgundy, deep blue, deep green.  My other major song was "Somewhere, Out there" and I can't remember who sang it but it was a gorgeous song.   Any one else out there with great themes for their weddings?

I just married in August, first and only time at 36 years old. I walked down the isle to the theme song from Ice Castles, our first dance was to Cinderella's, This is love and our bridal dance was to James Taylor, Time in a Bottle. It was beautiful! I have 3 step kids and we had them as our wedding party with my two nephews and niece! I had a family ceremony! Instead of just me and my u lighting a unity candle all 5 of us lit one and I read them vows. I promised to be there for them like I am there father, that I would never try to replace their mom and that i love them! Makes me what to cry just remembering it!

I had my stepson be part of our candle lighting ceremony also. Cool.

I thought "Time in a Bottle" was Jim Croce.

It is...wrong singer on the brain!

I wanted the kids to know that we are a family now and that they are a huge part of my life.

For me it would be 'Stand by me' when I find the right person to stand by me that is !!

My daughter had In My Life by the Beatles.  I cried through the whole song as she walked down the aisle.

I chose Jessie Mc Cartney's "Beautiful Soul" for when my husband and I met at the "alter".

 

(Because he does have a beautiful soul...that's why I captured him and made him marry me!)

I know this is a wierd choice, but I like "Thunder" by Boys Like Girls...

My hubby would stare at you blankly if you asked him that question - which is ok, I didn't marry him because I even dreamed he would remember stuff like that.  I like it better that he helps with the dishes and tells me how sexy I look when I am really not.  But "our song" at our wedding nearly 10 years ago was Jim Brickman's  The Gift.

Wedding song as in what we have our first dance thingy to?  We're not having that.  But we are having a non-traditional song as the walky-down-the-aisle song, and that'll be (currently under debate, meaning I'll get my way anyway) Heaven by Pierrot.  It's a very pretty Japanese song and the ending is perfect for us to do our candle lighting ceremony to.  It's a little bit of a long thing, no words, just the lighting of candles.  Not exactly a unity candle thing, but sort of close.

I also want Cage by Dir en Grey (check YouTube for the video, the beginning is why I want it!), another Japanese artist, but like I said, it's under debate.

oh - okay.  if i had to, i'd go with a classic for the ceremony: pachelbel's canon or the water music.  for the first dance, the game of love by wayne fontana and the mindbenders.  or maybe magic bus by the kinks.

First dance was "Such Great Heights" - Iron & Wine. And I don't remember what I walked down the aisle to.. Hah. I was pretty focused on getting down the aisle to the future-husband!

I walked down the aisle to the symphonic version of "One" by Metallica.  Our recessional was the "Futurama" theme.

And our first dance was "Accidentally in Love" by Counting Crows.

Yeah, we definitely had fun with it...
