You can have smoothies and put some protein powder in. The powder comes in some flavors i know vanilla for sure. Good Luck!
I just got mine out! Here's what I ate:
-Mashed Potatos (home made with skim milk and no butter)
-Sugar-free Jello, and sugar-free Jello puddings
-Light Ice Cream
-Soup. All brothy/creamy tipes are good. If you're feeling up to it, you could make them yourself.
-Oatmeal
-Canned pumpkin
-Smoothies! You could make a PB smoothie really easily, with skim milk, PB, and diet chocolate syrup.
meleba's list above looks good. :)

Also -

Mac & cheese - if possible, made from scratch with whole-grain pasta, non-fat milk and either low-fat or soy-based cheese.  The cheese will be a good source of protein.  Obviously mac & cheese isn't really "diet" food, but for a few days, it won't hurt.  (I lived on mac & cheese when I got mine pulled.) :)

Beans are also a good, soft source of protein and fiber.  Perhaps mix your favorite beans with some well-cooked brown rice and a little seasoning.

Also, yogurt mixed with soft fruit, something like bananas or canned peaches.

I ate baby food. Try Nature's Best Organic Baby Food, it's really good, at least some flavors are ;p

cottage cheese---has like 15 g of protein----um--some people put honey in it to taste better, you have to watch the sodium on it though--I eat low sodium  cottage cheese with strawberries--

I had my wisdom teeth removed a few years ago (2 sessions, 2 wisdom teeth each session), and here's what I ate:

*  Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger (from Jack-in-the-Box)
*  Large French Fries (from Jack-in-the-Box)

Please note however, that I most definitely would not recommend the above menu for various different reasons.

Tongue out

When I had mine pulled, I ate miso soup and sashimi. Fresh sashimi practically melts in your mouth and needn't be chewed. Both the soup and the sashimi are good sources of protein and vitamins. And best of all, nothing to get stuck in your "holes". Warm, salty, brothy things will promote the healing of the mouth.

The only thing I could get down after having mine out was Percocet and Ensure (high cal, high protein shake, found at the grocery or Walgreens with Boost muscle milk.) Rinse your mouth with warm salt water after a day or two to help promote healing - or, if you're feeling up to it, chicken broth. Feel better soon!

P.S. i find the regular chocolate shake ensure to be far superior to the other kinds ;)

When I had mine out all my mom would let me eat was Ensure and mashed up Chef Boyardee.  Needless to say, I can't stand canned ravioli anymore. >:P

EDIT:  Also, if you want peanut butter, try mixing it in soupy oatmeal, that's how I always eat it!

Let us know how it goes---I'm having mine out in a couple weeks and I'm nervous about it (I've never been put under before)!

My plan is to have a lot of Juice Stop smoothies, ice cream, and probably some soup.

Kashi GOLEAN shakes... they come in Vanilla, and Chocolate..

I get the vanilla and put the little coffe packs of splenda that are French vanilla into it along with a banana and some blueberrys and strawberries.....

I'm getting my wisdom teeth out next month... I ordered a Case of it... it's a 300 calorie drink the way I make it... So I plan to eat 4-6 servings a day :)

I would definitely be very careful with peanut butter because if you try to suck it off the roof of your mouth, you may pull your stitches out. And you can't use straws in any shakes because that will pull the stitches out for the same reason; it can create a vacuum in your mouth.

I ate melted ice cream and mushy mac and cheese like someone else suggested.

when I got mine out my mom made me fish. I don't recall what kind but it flaked off so I could eat it in small bites. I guess any kind would do but you may want to try that if you eat fish. Also Sweet Potatos with a little brown sugar splenda that would be soft too. Anyway hope that helps. GOOD LUCK!

I had mine taken out almost ten years ago and offer one piece of advice: Don't go under, just get the local anaesthetic.  It is an awesome experience.  They shoot you up with so much of the anaesthetic that your adrenaline is through the roof, you feel no pain whatsoever (seriously, they could drop a cinder block on your head from ten stories up and you wouldn't feel it), and you get to experience them breaking apart your teeth in your mouth without any pain.  It's such a rush.  I would grow my wisdom teeth back just to go through it again.

On the way home from mine, my mom went through Wendy's drive through to get me a vanilla frosty. DEFINITELY worth it. My mouth was still semi numb, but the cold felt so so HEAVENLY on my mouth and also I was completely starving from not eating a thing since midnight the previous night.

You'll go through stages--

1) Numbness. Cherish this. EAT something before the pain meds go away, so you can go to sleep as soon as possible when you get home! I had my mom make me toast with butter (comfort food).

2) Really ultra sucky. You'll be eating by basically tilting your head back and hoping liquid drains into your throat. ;) I slept through most of this stage, but it was the worst.

3) Still really sucky. BUT with the ability to mash things against the roof of your mouth using your tongue. Chicken noodle soup is OKAY, but most of the pasta and chicken I swallowed whole. In hindsight a smoother soup would have been better. Apple sauce. Chocolate pudding. Lots of juice. Scrambled eggs were really good, but still.. kind of in half mashed chunks... ahaha

4) Sucky. By this point you will be really tempted to move your jaw a bit, but DON'T. It will just be horribly sore later in the day if you eat with it! CONTINUE with soft foods that you can mash with your tongue and MAYBE break apart a teeny bit with your front teeth only: well cooked baked beans, scrambled eggs, soups of all sorts, soft breads, ice cream-- maybe a slushie would be healthier, but the COLDNESS will still feel really good. You probably won't want to eat all that much anyway, so the extra calories from junk food won't hurt you. Sadly, most vegetables are out because of all the chewing. MASHED POTATOES are really really good though-- had them many times.

I was so much better about 4-5 days after the surgery. Took a couple weeks to recover fully, though.

BUY MULTIPLE ICE PACKS AND FREEZE THEM BEFORE YOU GO! :) After the 2nd day, you will probably want to switch to HOT packs, which also felt oh so nice. Good luck!

well, theyre out now

and even though im taking vicodin, the left side of my mouth hurts like HELL
anyone know why? i hope the stitch didnt come out or something...my right side feels fine

and the weird thing is my right side isnt numb anymore but my left still is
but my bottom left tooth hurts soooooooooooooo much :( :( :(

thanks for all the tips though.
it was snowing really hard outside today so my mom didnt want to take me anywhere to get a frosty or soft serve ice cream :( darn
