Wisdom tooth-friendly foods?

Quote  |  Reply

I have a wisdom tooth coming in, so I can't open my mouth very wide and chewing hurts. Plus there's not much food in the house.

Does anyone have any ideas for something I can eat that's around 300-500 calories?

I had 2 wisdom teeth pulled last month.  I ate oatmeal with applesauce for breakfast, and ate soft wheat bread with hummus on it. You can eat yogurt, fruit sorbets, etc.  I'd also eat tunafish on soft bread too.  Try making smoothies with fresh fruit, yogurt and some protein powder or instant breakfast in it.  Soup is great too.

When I had mine pulled... I ate Jello, soup, & Mashed potatoes.

I ate whatever soft foods I wanted for a week! It was pretty great actually.

Mostly pints of sorbet, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, jello, milkshakes, ice cream...

I obviously wasn't counting calories.

I ate TONS of ice cream... Also lots of applesauce, jello, yogurt, pudding, etc.  Carnation instant breakfast, smoothies, and milkshakes.  When I could chew a little I had mac & cheese, soup, and rice.

Oh man, when I got my 4 wisdom teeth out, I had the WORST recovery ever. I didn't respond to the pain meds, I blacked out/fainted, & had a migraine for the ENTIRE recovery.

Anyway, counting calories was the last thing on my mind, obviously.
I lived off of orange sherbet, applesauce, & instant mashed potatoes. By like day 13 I was so frustrated & sick & tired that I couldn't eat what I wanted that I just started throwing stuff in the blender just so I could get the taste... yes, I drank pureed tuna fish. ohgod haha.

To this day I actually can't even look at a jar of applesauce or mashed potatoes without feeling sick.
