i WISH i was one of you that started to lose in the very beginning... i have read soooooooooooooooooooooo many post where someone said ((( I STARTED LOSING IMMEDIATELY! LIKE 2-3LBS A WEEK OR 10LBS A MONTH AND IM STILL LOSING! )))
i just wish i could be like that......... i know everyone is different and some WILL and some WONT lose that way... but Come On Now! it does get to me some days... ♥ Patience IS My Virtue ♥ and i WILL keep counting my calories and exercising till i finally DO start losing! I JUST WISH I WOULD START LOSING..... its been a whole month now and ive only lost 2lbs... well... hopefully when i weigh in on Saturday MAYBE it will be 1 or 2 more...
The thing to remember is the weight did not come on over night, and it is prob not going to come off over night either! I have been on sooo many different diets it is not even funny, this time I am doing a lifestyle change and the two important things that promt me to do so are health and I am getting married. I will not walk down the aisle uncomfortable with myself. I have learned that it takes 27 days to form a habbit and so give yourself time to adjust. The slower you take the weight off remember the longer it will stay off. You are doing great, don't give up and just work hard, maybe when all those other people reach a stand still in their weightloss, you will be zooming right by with your numbers. Some loose lots in the beginning and reach a stand still where they can't loose anymore, while others loose 1-2 pds every couple of weeks during the start, but once you body gets through the intial shock of your change, you might notice you too take off 8-10 pds a month! Chin up and keep martching forward you will do just fine!
The other things to check are... food intake. The most common reason for not losing is the simple one of eating a bit too much. Or eating more than you think. Are you clocking everything you eat and drink accurately? Weighing everything out? Not eating out often or eating too many packaged foods (which can be 20% out in calorie count)?
Patience is no bad thing, but there does come a point where you have to ask if something else is affecting your ability to lose weight. A month is a long time. Best of luck
Also important to see where your calories are coming from - a calorie is not just a calorie. I started losing with Jenny Craig before I found Calorie Count Plus. I would still be eating Jenny Craig food if I had not quit my job - now I can't afford the convenience and have to cook on my own. It's important to eat the right food groups - for me (1500 calories per day) it was 6 starch, 4 fruit, 5 meat, 3 milk, 3 fat, and 5+ veggies. The program includes "volumetrics" so you never feel hungry and keep your metabolism up. Check with your local Jenny Craig representative to see how they can help rev up the weight loss. And, of course, EXERCISE plays a HUGE roll. Best of luck to you!
I can totally relate to you right now buubuu! It's only been two and a half weeks for me, but I've been counting calories and exercising so I feel like I should have dropped more than a pound! It can be so hard to stay motivated without seeing some kind of immediate difference, but we do just have to stick with it. Maybe you're just gaining muscle mass from all the exercise and that's why your weight doesn't go down. Good luck!
Let's stay strong and positive and continue our healthy lifestyles. The way I see it is that it needs to start coming off soon... we are doing the right thing. It will kick in eventually. Keep up the hard work everyone

Can you explain what you mean by this???
The body processes calories from fat, carbohydrates, protein etc. in different ways. There are four calories per gram in carbohydrates, for example, but a calorie of simple sugar is digested easier than a calorie from starches which are slower to digest. Your body has to use more energy to burn a starch than a sugar, so the calories are used less efficiently (which is a good thing, leads to weight loss). The same number of calories from a Snickers candy bar burn off faster than lean meat. I don't understand the entire story well enough to explain it, but I have seen it in action and it's true.
I started working out in July and gained 5 lbs. I was focused on getting into an exercise routine and at the same time I was logging my calorie intake. I told a couple of people at the gym and they said that it was probably muscle mass. Well, after logging my calories for a couple of weeks it was definitely my food intake! I had to seriously cut back and change what I was snacking on. I also had to increase the resistance on the ellipitical/treadmill. So far, I'm down 2lbs. from when I started... in July.
Not to worry buubuu! I didn't see the scale move until week 4!! It did not move one bit! It WILL so don't stop now!!!
kinda like nikki said, the weight was gained over a period of time and will sometimes take longer to lose. the best part about making a lifestyle change that i've found most rewarding is that not only will you be re-sculpting your body but it will overall be healthier in the long run which is really the key goal here besides a number on a scale. don't get discouraged...keep it up and i'm sure you'll see the numbers start to drop soon!!
you sound shoooo shweeet, lols.... dont worry bubu it will fall more next month, ull see . some ppl dont even lose that much in their first month... its very annoying but its common.... if u lost that much now ull probly lose more next month. HAVE 7-8 GLASSES of water and dont eat anything atleast 3 hours b4 u sleep..... ull notice a change then..... i learned that from oprah .... its actually a very good and simple advice and yet so many of us froget to follow it.

Figure out what type of eater you are and you might just find the answer to permanent weight loss.
