Woah.. swimming suit woe
No, this is not your typical I-don't-look-good-in-bikini rant. It's at the price of swimming suits. I might have to go to beach this summer and decided to take a look at swimming suits. And wow, really? It seems like they cost 60~150 USD. Is that normal? Is it just me that I haven't stayed in touch with swim suit world and gasped at the price tags? Maybe I'm just looking at the wrong places?

Now, where do YOU shop for affordable swimming suit?
Not sure where you've tried, but WalMart, Target, Kohls.
I went a little nuts this year and spent $90 on mine at Dillard's because I wanted to get something with good support that might be wearable for more than 1 summer.
ugh i am SO with you on this one!! i think i paid $80 for my last suit! i know places like target and H&M carry cheap suits, but they always seem to fit terribly for me.
i also usually need to buy my bikinis as separates, because the sets never seem to fit my bottom when they fit my top and vice versa. it's hard to find separates on the sale rack!
Sometimes Victoria's Secret has some good sales on swimsuits from last season.
I usually do that or Target.
I go to department stores to get a bathing suit..ok it may not be as sexy as some of these higher up brands...but it does it's job and if it's the right cut and flatters my body then that is all that matters. I'm not shopping for a designer label, I'm shopping for comfort and for looking good..most of all finding something CHEAP.
Old Navy usually has theirs on sale for cheap (2 pieces usually $12.50 per piece, one piece are simply $12.50)...but...they are truly cheap suits - if you need any support or nipping/tucking in - these aren't the suits for you.
Target has decent mid quality suits for a good price.
If you need support, last year I bought one by the brand name "Longitude" at JC Penny after the end of summer for like $15. It's the best swimsuit I've ever had! I swear it takes 10 lbs off me, but doesn't feel all constricting like some shapewear does. I would totally buy another even at full price.
Marshall's or TJ Maxx. I got my swimsuit at Marshall's for $11, and it's an American Eagle one that was probably closer to $40 there. Loooove Marshall's! They have some really high quality brands with discount prices, so it's totally worth checking out what they have every so often.
Victoria's Secret is having a sale online right now! Gogogo! www.victoriuassecret.com
A lot of popular US retailers have clearance sections on their webpages.

I don't know what type of swimwear you're looking for but everything from Bikinis, Tankinis, One-Pieces, Monokinis, Cover-ups/ Etc. It's all available there and there is a big sale now! Try there. I've bought a couple from there as have friends and my sisters. The measurement chart is so nice it makes it easy to do online.
After scavenging online I too learned that VS is the way to go. I always checked the clearance section but either they aren't good looking or they are still too expensive. Or don't even have matching tops/bottoms.
I've already found a few that I really like that I don't think will go out of style in few years. Thanks all!!! I hope you guys all get nice bikinis and bikini bodies this summer!
I usually wait to shop for a suit at the beach. There are a zillion bathing suit places there and they usually have a much wider selection and clearance section. Plus, absolutely zero two pieces fit me off the rack, so I have to buy separates. Beach stores usually are more likely to carry lines like Venus that are better for ladies of varying sizes. While they are more expensive than your Old Navy off-the-racks, the upside is that you usually end up with a much better made suit that fits well. My two main bikinis have now made it through 6 years of fairly extensive summer wear, so they were worth the investment!
Both Target and Walmart sell tops and bottoms separately for a reasonable price. The only problem is if you wait too long, you won't find the matching top/bottom. Anyway, I own TONS of suits because of vacations and also a pool in my yard now, so mine last a long time.
