What do woman want?

Alright so I this is a very VERY general question but I'm all about learning so let me have it!

I've only been in 2 relationships, 1 spanning 5 years, the other 3!  So I have a good start I think!  But if I knew enough then I wouldnt be single right now haha! the most recent one ended when I was told that I was cheated on about a year into the relationship! Ouch!  Now that I've lost a whole bunch of weight I dont know if thats going to make a difference in attracting woman... mainly the right kind of woman!  Welp I dont know where I'm going with this, I'm sort of all of the place! Just post up some helpful advice for a semi-shy guy!

Women want a guy who will treasure them, let them know they've loved and special and appreciated.

More than that... depends on the woman. :)

Women want too much.

I've been with my b/f for about 3 years now...

I am so happy with him b/c he lets me be independent and I really value that. I treat him with the same respect

He makes me laugh and although he doesn't compliment me a lot, I don't do it either :)

We make a pretty strong team and will be learning about each other forever!

I've never been happier :)

Of course I can't speak for all women, but I like men who have something going for them.

I don't mean a rich man.  I mean a man who has hobbies and friends and a life.  I want to spend time with a man and enjoy doing things together, but I also like time to do the solitary things I enjoy, like reading, and I don't want to feel that he depends on me for his every need.   A man who only has one thing going for him - his relationship - is a man who, to me, can turn clingy.

My boyfriend, who I've been with for six years, is my best friend.  I love spending time with him.  But he also occupies himself sometimes, doing things he enjoys (which I don't, necessarily), and I think it's important to retain one's individuality while in a relationship.

On the contrary men want to much. They want a trophy wife,cook,housekeeper,asswiper'geriatric yrs',yes woman, shall I go on? If a woman puts on weight and a man puts on weight in the relationship the woman is the fat pig the man has just 'grown' into himself. If a woman has the same job as a man the man gets higher up much quicker than the woman not based on what they actually do but because he is the 'man'!

I'm shocked to say this but.... hk is right.

Women want to be loved, accepted and appreciated for who they are, not who you can mold them into.

Guess thats like HK's, but taken a little further.

And to add to that.... What women want from men... Genuinity. Not someone who is well behaved and trying to be what they think you want them to be which will change as time goes on. Be real, let her be real.

Depends on the woman, surgence...unfortunately...

...Whether or not that is true, angiethe1_2005, I don't think that's what surgence is looking for.  The question is not what men want - it's what women want - btw, do you want a trophy for being a wife, cook, housekeeper, etc?  :)  What advice would you give surgence in his quest to attract a woman with integrity?

I too agree with HK.

On top of that, me personally, I want a guy who reads and can make me laugh.

Advice to Surgence to find a woman with integrity, a woman worth being with.

1) Be patient. With yourself and with others.

2) Constantly strive to be the best person you can be, recognizing, even as you do that, that you aren't perfect.

3) To thine own self, be true. Always. Always always ALWAYS!

Do those three "Simple" things and you'll find the right woman. She's out there. I promise you, she is.

surgence- I'd say if you are looking right now.. don't try too hard, just let nature take it's course :) maybe start involving yourself in more group activities throughout your community that YOU enjoy. Then if you meet someone there, you already have something in common!

I met my b/f through my best friend's b/f who happens to be my b/f's best friend... lol, confused? so we kinda figured we'd have something in common since we're all friends :)

Hmmm HK. I could say I followed those rules in my days but somehow ended up with a man who tried to change who I was inside. Just be yourself! And let her be herself. That way there will be no surprises.

also, be true to yourself and make sure she is true to herself too! It would be no fun dating someone and really liking them to find out they are actually a totally different person!

oh, you mentioned something about attracting a woman with your weight loss... be CONFIDENT (not cocky ;) )!! I find that super appealing and sexy! Especially now that you have lost weight, don't be afraid to be feel good about yourself and your accomplishments!

Purespark, I know this doesnt have anything to do with this thread I was just responding to a previous post:)I never said i wanted a trophy i used a term as in trophywife the perfect woman so to speak dont get your panties in a bunch:)

But in the long and short of it  I dont think there is anything specific that I could say or suggest to help you find that one and only women for you. What I will say is be yourself, be true to yourself, and let the relationship you make grow naturally.

Oh and one other thing, If she makes you feel like your the only man on earth and if she feels the same what, I think your doing something right. We atleast thats how me and my b/f feel.

Oh, trophy-wife, sorry.  Didn't pick up what you were laying down.   Consider my panties to be perfectly wrinkle-free  :)
