Women who are 5'8 looking to maintain
okay, so I am 20 years old, 5'8, 127 pounds and looking to maintain. I put my stats in the expenditure calculator with moderate activity and it said I should be eating around 2500 calories! I work out everyday, so that could be right, but it seems so much. To lose weight I ate around 1400-1500 calories. So I was wondering if any one around my weight and height could tell me how many calories they are eating to maintain.

oh and your other stats
Thanks!
i'm 19, F, 5'8, 123 lbs. and i'm trying to figure out maintaining as well. i'm trying to slowly increase my calories, but i don't know when i should slow down. i read on a site you should multiply your body weight by 10 and that should be around your resting rate. so i would need 1230 calories a day if i just sat on my butt all day and did nothing.
how many calories were you eating when you were trying to lose weight? The 1230 calories a day is probably your BMR, which is the amount your body needs to just function and keep itself alive, not accounting in any activity. Most adults need anywhere from 11-16 calories per pound, depending on there activity level. I work out everyday, so I probably need closer to 14 or 15 calories per pound. YOu can also use the expenditure calculator on this site. I think I am going to increase my calories by about 100 every week or so, see how that goes. Let me know how it's going!
I am 36 yrs old. I'm also 5'8" and weigh 135 lbs. I just became a Lifetime member on Weight Watchers this year. Following their plan, my minimum weight for my height for any adult, any age, is 132 lbs, so I am 3 lbs away from their 'minimum.' So I am trying to figure out how much to eat daily to try and maintain. I was doing their point system and lost 48 lbs to my current weight. I am not sure how much food to add. I have been adding 2 WW points each time I lose, to try to balance it. I think 2 WW points is about 100 calories per day. My CC expediture says 1900 calories per day would do it. I am going to try and add more 'regular' yogurts and cheeses, plus healthy nuts to my diet, to try to add that balance. I was exercising quite a bit, but now I find myself in the 'light' activity area. I'm finding that maintaining is just as hard as losing! Good luck! ~Kim
