Women with muscles look good!!
There have been a number of threads from women who don't want to look like they have muscles. I just wanted to say that I think that women with some definition look good! Scrawny stick figures? Ugh. The slender, willowy look? Eh. Competitive body building? That looks cartoony to me.
Women who train, play a sport, look strong and athletic and graceful, with visible muscles? Awesome.
Anyone else agree?
I second!
AMEN!
yep
I also like muscles on myself and other women. But, I have had a few friends who have gotten too lean and too muscular to the point that even my husband said they didn't look good. Definition is sexy but when you get so lean that your boobs disappear and your pec muscles take over.....not so sexy.
Sorry, just my opinion.
well, i'm biased & partial to muscular as I love my my built chick form that I've created -
but i DO appreciate the diversity that exists in FIT women & men's bodies!
sometimes - the hottest dude in the gym is the skinny geek who can run like a powerhouse and other times - it's the chick w/the bigger quads than me-- i even appreciate the skinny minnie chicks who do their cardio machine next to me without breaking a sweat... & i absolutely adore the little old people (70-80s!!! no joke!) who get out there everyday next to me at the gym & do WHATEVER they can to keep it going!
but, overall- i LOVE my female body w/lats, traps, bis, tris, quads, glutes - etc-- that everyone can see & think- wow- she worked it hard for what she's got!
PLUS, I know, I can kick your @ss with this body if you DON'T LIKE IT! lol!
I like men and women who have muscles and use them. I don't like muscles that are "just there". I might say I don't like "definition" for and in itself. But i do appreciate the lumberjack's muscles, even if they are somewhat covered, I do appreciate the "willowy" look of a runner or a dancer who needs his or her shape for his or her job.
What I absolutely hate is the calf muscle pumped out by stilettos.
In other words: I like a body that has a function and is able to fulfill it. With or without "definition."
i have always had muscles so i am partial- however, my bf has been telling me for ages that he prefers girls w muscles vs. those who are willowy. he says its just sexy to have that mix of tough and feminine. so i like that. im a tough yet feminine lady ;)
here, here. when i was growing up i thought christie brinkley was one of the only good looking models out there. you could definitely see she had some muscle, although she was still a bit too skinny but that was because of her job. and i've become jealous pamela anderson's triceps (unless they are implants too??). and i perfer cathe or dennis what's-her-face to jane fonda.
Being naturally muscular I don't have much of a choice, but I agree with what you're saying anyway.
then i must not look good :*(.
its not easy for everyone to get muscles...

if you eat right & work it right & hard- you can gain muscle! Yes, we don't have testosterone but doesn't mean we can't build some quality mass to look very hot!
If you want to try to build some, give some of us chicks six weeks with you in a high protein/calorie surplus and a lot of squats & upper body work, & we'll put some muscle on you!
just ask! We're willing to help you grow some of your very own! You'll love it!!!
;)
on another note-- wtf is up w/this "i have enough muscle" crud that's going on w/younger girls on here?
i've seen like 5 posts lately on how to lose muscle or not gain any--
i don't know- but I thought the goal was to be healthful overall- and it would seem having a greater mass/fat ratio would be a target in this!?
WHY is this? what is wrong with some muscle on the female form?
in my pic next to my name- i am FLEXING-- my back does NOT look like that when i'm just walking around-- so it's not like i'm intimidating (unless i'm in the gym).
i just don't get it- i had such hopes when like jessica biel and madonna's muscles looked good- but the obsession is still the waif look?
WHY? can someone point reasons out to me?
I think that girls now are affraid of looking huge and bulky. People don't notice that more and more models have muscle definition... and what about the fitness models?
I guess women havebeen fed bull**** for so long, they don't get that, if they put on muscle, they will actually trick the eye and look smaller!!!
I love when people say that they are afraid of looking bulky. I guess these people think that as soon as you start lifting it just gets out of control with little effort. Well you can amass any amount of muscle that you want and then maintain. Moderation, what a notion. I personally love to see some muscles on a lady. Especially back and abs, woohoo.
Well personally i think muscles look great on a woman, I never thought about having any of my own till one day i noticed i had some.
I was always one of those lucky skinny people and i never occured to me to workout, it wasn't till i took up poledancing as a hobby because it was FUN!!! that i started to develop some.
It was weird because i wasn't workout out with the intention of gaining muscle i was the last person to notice id got some, but suddenly almost over night i started getting lots of compliments about my tone and definition.
I remeber my mate looking at some poledancing photo's of me and being horrified how much muscle i hid beneith my regular clothes, i was slim and i looked good but he'd never realised i had muscle because it didn't show up that much in normal clothes.
UnfortunatlyJust as i'd got to the point where i'd realised i LIKED having tone and muscle and wanted more. I had a bad accident and i havn't been able to dance since.
I finally got cleared for the pole and more importantly the gym by my surgeon last week and im DETERMINeD im GOING to get fit, im GOING to get muscle and i AM going to look FAB!!!! because women with muscles are damn sexy!!!

They think it's more feminine to be rail thin with a little squishy layer of fat over top (their arms come to mind), and have a distorted view of what muscular is.
why now, though? it would make sense 40-50 years ago, when there were widely accepted stereotypes that women are the "weaker sex", women should be subservient to men, it is unladylike to appear strong. my mother and her sisters had to fight to go to college, it was seen as "not necessary" since they were going to get married. now there are women on the u.s. supreme court, in congress, running businesses, notable athletes, you name it.
what is it about current culture that makes it fashionable for girls to want to be weak?
vicereine- i like you!!! & all you ladies who are pro muscle...
Interesting thoughts alevin-
think back to the start of the war eras in this country - re: the dust bowl, farming, WWI & II - women were far far more active & helped on the farm, really did HARD housework and weight wasn't an issue as the media was much more limited and controlled-
i mean rosie the riveter was pumping out a bicep and enforcing women's power!
How often do we see that now?
it comes to mind that one poster linked to an image of abs she wanted where they were practically concave under a bare-boned rib-cage- and it was from a plastic surgery site no less- now I'm all about a firm core- but I like my S curve from my obliques/abs down to my hip flexors & upper glutes - and while i like a flat stomach- I LOVE IT being A RIPPED stomach!
it's personal preference- obviously...
but I ABHOR that media flashes an emaciated star to the world and suddenly, thin is in- NOT being muscular and fit...
is it the media? what is it? are we truly supposed to be the weaker sex in all aspects even given the fact that we work full time jobs & hold together families/lives - ie - doing as much as men or dare i say it-- MORE? wouldn't that seem to dictate strength in muscle in women to then be more promoted/allowed by society?
i just don't know-- but so curious...
so the only way i'll gain muscle is if i gain weight!!!?!?!!?!?
THATS GOOD NEW CAUSE I WANNA GAIN 7 POUNDss :D for somereason XD haha. I want to be 115 pounds, not 107 :/.... sounds"healthier" for 5ft 2 person.
