Women only.... Question about ... that time.. :(

I was wondering when you all gain weight around that time of month.

Is it a few days before it starts?

The first few days after it starts?

Or

The end of it?

Do you see a weight loss after it ends??

How many pounds is a typical gain and loss?

This last time was my first time going through it while dieting. I gained about 4 - 6 pounds, it went up and down everyday. It lasted about two days after, and I'm not sure how many days before, but now I'm back down to the weight I was before.

I usually go up about 4 pounds gradually the week prior then after I am usually down 5
heh.. judging by the responses it seems to vary. Personally, I don't experience any weird weight loss/gain during the time of the month. but that's just me.

I'd say, find out for yourself and don't worry about how your body reacts! Bodies are strange..
I have yet to figure this one out.. I havent had a normal period for over 3 years so I havent suffered the wrath..lol.. I too am curious about this.. I think Im going to have a normal one everytime then it's just all screwy hmmmmmmmmphh!

Oh and for the record incase anyone wonders why I havent gotten my period for 3 years its b/c I was pregnant then went right on the depo shot which caused me not to get it...
When I was losing, I noticed a gain of about 4 lbs a couple days before my period came. Once it came, it was anywhere from 4-7 lbs during the week of. About 2-3 days after it was gone, I was down to my original weight minus one lb. Try to ignore the flip flop scale during that time and carry on as normal. I always lost my usual weekly lb once it was over.
Thanks,

That helped.  I'm on day 3 now and the scale  showed a 3 pound gain... And, I wasn't sure if it was from that or the fact that I have been replacing real food w/junk more. Cravings for chocolate/sugar/salt got the better of me a few days before. I ate the same calories... I just didn't know if it would make me gain due to the lack of protein those days.
The week of my period I usually gain 3 to 4 lbs. I have learned not to fresk about it... because when I am off of it the lbs. go away. I have learned to stop weighing myself that time of the month!!
I don't notice that I gain much - not more than a pound or so - but I definitely stop losing until afterward. I usually just don't weigh myself during TTOM, and then enjoy the sudden drop in weight afterward. :)

I gain about 2 pounds a few days before it starts, and then another one or so during. Some of this is probably due to my increased salt intake and, of course, that TOM craving for Mexican food, red wine, and chocolate (just being honest, folks) which I give into at least one or two days during the TOM. Towards the end, the gain is gone and I'm back down to my preTOM weight. My TOM lasts 5 or 6 days, and I've never lost any weight during the TOM week. But...I don't gain lasting weight either, so I'm fine with it.
