WOMEN OVER 40 WEEKLY CHALLENGE

Quote  |  Reply
Ok, ladies from the women over 40's posting group, here's where we'll start. Everybody put your starting weight, how much water you drink on average per day, and how many minutes and or days per week you exercise and what that exercise is.

ADDED SECTION BELOW:

Then starting Tuesday June 26, post your weight (if you weigh daily, if not just state what day you weigh yourself), how much water you drank for Monday....and your minutes of exercise. BUT>>>>> keep track of it too...b/c on Monday I want you to also post a total for the week. The daily posts will tell the rest of us how much harder we have to work to beat each other, which will help motivate us!!!

hello,

weight 160.5 (I hope, up and down this past week)

Average water per day:  24 oz (that is why I am joining this challenge!)

Exercise:  Weights/walking/running/elliptical/rowing varied 5 days a week for 45 to 70 minutes a day.
Hi, everybody..

Weight: 159.5

Average water per day: 24 oz

Exercise: Yoga--1 hour  3 x's per week/Cardio-Eliptical--50-60 mins. 3 x's per week + 10 minutes ab crunches

Donna
Here's where I'm at:

Weight: 159.8

Water: 64 oz

Exercise: Currently I'm not following anything structured.  I do however spend 4 - 6 hours outdoors 3 or 4 days a week maintaining our property, which consists of 10 acres of woods with over 2 miles of trails.  Everything from mowing to cutting and hauling wood.  My calorie expenditure on these days is usually between 3500 - 4000!

My husband has just finished chemo/radiation treatments so it's been a one woman show around here since late March.
Weight: 128

Average Water per day: 24 oz.

Exercise: Walking the dog (she can go pretty fast when she wants to!) about 1 hour; riding my bike (just started this 8 days ago) trying to do one hour. Definitely walking the dog 7 days a week, and pretty sure the bike has become a daily event too.

My name is Laura, too, but too avoid confusion I'll go by LauraAnn!

Weight: 160 butt naked 1st thing in the morning

water intake: no less than 1/2 my body weight in ounces of water.  I drink at least 80 oz per day right now and strive for more if I can.  If my weight goes up I increase the water; if it goes down I let myself cut back if I want but my goal is to ALWAYS drink at least 1/2 mbwioow.   I like the .5L bottles of water b/c I can count the tops to make sure I drank them all and throw them away at the end of the day (Otherwise I loose count of how many I drank) So, my goal is 1/2 mbwioow or more per day.

EXERCISE:  Run to the potty (see water intake above) I participate in 1 hour of Pilates 2 times a week.  I chase very active 2 year old with way more energy than I have.  I attempt to do Yoga tapes at home (2 yr old permitting - but he doesn't permit often enough) otherwise I have to resort to crunches (as many as my abs will allow) or perhaps an evening or afternoon stroll around my house.  I am always searching for some activity I can do on my off Pilates days.  My goal will be to work something in regardless of how much time I may be able to devote to it.  10 crunches until I can do 11.   Good luck to all Challengers

I'm in!

Weight: 187.25 also butt naked 1st thing in the morning (really is there any other way?)

water intake: 48 oz., apparently I need to drink more. :)

EXERCISE:  Yep, could do this more too.  Walking a mile or so in the evenings a few times a week.

I was doing alright when I had a partner, but she left for the summer and I need some motivation.

Good luck to us :)
Hey Y'all,

I'm 42.  My starting weight on CC was 142 although my highest weight was 155.

Currently: 123lbs

5'4"

Water intake is at least 64 oz; I don't keep track but I'm always drinking water.

Exercise 10,000 (about 6 miles) steps by 8am, 6 days/week.  Some light lifting and other extraneous activity.

Hoping to lose the last few... can't wait for the challenge:)
Hi Group!  I've just got my last 5 lbs to lose now, but if I don't lose it, and it turns to rock-hard muscle, that's okay too!  :)

Starting weight: 115.6 lbs., average H2O: not a clue, sorry!, exercise: 5 days p/week walking the dog and treadmill walking.  I'm trying to work in free weights and longer treadmill time.
For Monday the 25th I drank 52 ounces of water and went for a five mile bike ride.

Lyna
For Monday, I forced the water down and forced the extra exercise......so I think this challenge is going to help!

I nearly drowned myself and drank 80 oz. of water.

And hurt with each move today, exercising 30 minutes with an ab work out and pilates and a 15 minute walk.

166.2 this morning, down .2 (in my nightshirt though, I always jump on the scales in my pj's)

Bonna
Hi

Here are my stats: I drink at least 64 ounces of water and walk 45 minutes to an hour 3x a week.  My starting weight is 216.  I have gained 5 lbs over the last month on vacation and life issues.  I am back on the straight and narrow and plan on working hard to lose this weight.  Oh, by the way,  I am from Germantown, Maryland.

I also am doing alot of gardening which I hope will help       Summer is Great!

Nicole
Everyone.........post your stats for yesterday (monday, June 25)!!!!!
I think I'm a day late, but here's my starting stats:

Weight:155 (down from start of 167.5)

Water: 15oz

Excercise: none (typical for me!)

This is going to be a tough week. 4-H potluck last night, dinner out tonight for my daughters bday, dinner out with friends tomorrow night and we're going to Disneyland on Friday. Hey, at least there I'll get some walking done.

Monday -

I drank about 90 oz. of water and walked about a mile with the dog.  She loved it.  Actually both of us did :)

I know its not part of the challenge, but I also got my fruits and veggies in.

Darn, I had a typo on my original weight.  It was 188.25, not 187.25.  Now it is 188.

Elaine -- I think those social eating functions are the most difficult part of eating healthy so good luck with your week and have a blast at Disneyland :)
I am late but here it goes

weight 153.4 (down from 165)

water:  32 ounces

walk 3 miles 4-5 times per week, hand weights for 15 minutes 2 times per week, 25 sit ups nightly.

Hey, Elaine - definitely get the pedometer.  I did and you will be very surprised to see how far you walk in one day at Disney Land.  Have fun!
yep to the pedometer.  it's glued to me daily.  extremely motivating.
You can get a free pedometer from Pfizer for taking a 3 minute survey, here's the link:
