WOMEN OVER 40 WEEKLY CHALLENGE

Quote  |  Reply
Ok, ladies from the women over 40's posting group, here's where we'll start. Everybody put your starting weight, how much water you drink on average per day, and how many minutes and or days per week you exercise and what that exercise is.

ADDED SECTION BELOW:

Then starting Tuesday June 26, post your weight (if you weigh daily, if not just state what day you weigh yourself), how much water you drank for Monday....and your minutes of exercise. BUT>>>>> keep track of it too...b/c on Monday I want you to also post a total for the week. The daily posts will tell the rest of us how much harder we have to work to beat each other, which will help motivate us!!!

(See Anybody wanna have a Women Over 40 group post to see what this is about) Link: http://www.calorie-count.com/calories/communi ty/forums.php?topic=41313&rewind=last& ;count=18#last

WE DESERVE TO BE SKINNY!!!

Jlo........Thank you for the no preaching and the confidence that you have in me......but although I'm not as sore, I'm still doing no major exercise today and it was a road day for me today........I always suck at what I eat/drink on those days (I think the road days are coming to an end though - keep your fingers crossed for me!)

Bonna
I'm home!  Sorry to get in on this late, but better late than never.  Starting with today:

Weight: 159.2;  Water:only 17 oz so far, but 85 oz. yesterday; Exercise:  um, I don't think watering the garden counts, so nothing.  But yesterday I got up before God (6 am!!!) and went for a four mile walk.  I also played Wii Tennis with my girlfriend, but that probably doesn't count either.  I guess I'll go accomplish something now....
Don't you have to like swing your arms around to play Wii tennis?? I would think that is exercise.

Today I'm not as sore as yesterday and moving around better, but I'm soooo tired. I don't have the strength to go for a walk even.

But hey! tomorrow's a new day.....we can keep on each other to drink more h2o and walk walk walk!

Hello Team :)

Tuesday

Water intake: 75 oz.

Exercise: 1/2 hr. of pilates and 1/2 hour of walking.
I'm in- a day late but what the heck. Age 41- Trying to lose 3 lbs of babyweight (i have a seven month old) and the 12lbs I had slowly gained in my 20-30's for a total of 15. Weight on Monday was 132.5 water- no clue, but I will start paying attention exercise: Running 4-8 miles 5 days swimming: 3,000 yards 2 days/wk

I am trying to do around 2200 calories a day- Otherwise i couldn't do the exercise. i have never tried to count calories before- but I was exercising a lot and not losing - I mean i was running Marathons and not losing weight! I think it was because basically i eat a ton of food as a reward for working out- so i am just going to try and see what happens. it seems the only time i have ever lost weight is when i go to bed slightly hungry -which seems around 2200ish calories. i don't want to be fanatical- just a bit fitter and put an end to the slip towards roundness.

Good luck! Lets tighten up!
I'm late too, sorry... I want to join the group.

Age 42

Weight:  127

Water:   about 64 oz.  ( I am just learning about the water thing)

Exercise:  stationary bicycle 20min. light effort

(I have been really tired lately so I am not doing very good and then I get really hungry too).

Thanks, Joan
Okay, dailing stats it is.  How better to stay accountable?

Monday (2160 cals)

  • dog walk (30 min.)
  • treadmill (120 min.)
  • water (didn't count, sorry)
Tuesday (1850 cals)

  • dog walk (30 min.)
  • treadmill (120 min.)
  • swimming (30 min.)
  • H2O (2 liters)
Wednesday (2385 cals)

  • dog walk (30 min.)
  • treadmill (120 min.)
  • H2O (1.5 liters)
*the only way I can stay on the treadmill like that is by having a DVD playing in the computer.  I've watched "Sabrina", "Ground Hog Day" and "Bugsy" respectively.  This regimen is all going to go to hell on Friday when guests come, unfortunately.
Okay, for Wednesday:

Weight: Saturday is my "weigh-in day"

Water: 56 ozs.--getting better, but not there yet.*

Exercise: Hatha Yoga--60 minutes.

* I'm trying some flavored waters in 20 oz. bottles today. They have 25 calories, because they have some fruit juice in them, but I figure that's ok as long as I'm working out every day.

Luck to All of Us!

Donna
Wednesday stats:
Weigh in day is Monday
Walking the dog : 45 minutes
Bicycling, light effort: 65 minutes
Water: 64 oz. (I might be overestimating....)
I'll keep better track of the water today.

Hello Team :)

Wednesday

Water intake: about 80 oz.

Exercise: 1/2 hr. of pilates and about 45 minutes of heavy cleaning (think moving books around).

Nancy1967 - I'm really impressed with your treadmill use!

Okay here she goes:

Wednesday's stats:

Weigh Day: Saturday (yes. Butt naked)

Water intake: 96 oz (Cheers from the stands)

Exercise:  1 hour Pilates (must firmer buthigh now .. that the muscle that connects your butt and thigh)

(exercise for today - crossing fingers for Bonna)  Hey guys, I found a friend , screen name"Nevernever" out there in CC land.  I invited her to our group and sent her the link to us.  Give her a big Over 40ers welcome in case she comes in while I'm no looking.  K?  Thanks.  Big Huuuuugggggzzzzzzzz!
Too, thank you!  Knowing that I'll be out of commission for a week is part of my motivation (house guests come today, ta-dahhh, welcome to my dirty house!) as well as having a movie to watch (A Boy, with Bruce Willis, was the feature yesterday).

Thursday stats:

  • Weight: Let's just say "up"
  • dog walk (30 min.)
  • treadmill (120 min.)
  • H2O (2 liters)
Friday to Friday - it's unlikely I'll be able to post but I SHALL return!  ...and I will be using the pedometer and eating as cleanly as is humanly possible, under the circumstances of houseguests, I hereby sollemnly swear before God and Everyone :)  Good luck, gang! xxNancy
Hi

Yesterday drank 80oz of water and I've lost 2 1/2 lbs this week!Horray! I'm finaly moving back in the right direction and I'm sure keeping better track of my calories and joining this group has helped.  Thank You all for all your posts this week.  Exercise wise I have not walked much this week due to the extreme heat and humidity, but I did pull weeds in the garden for about 45 minutes yesterday.  That counts for something.  Weather is better today and should be for the weekend so I'll be back to walking.

Hi guys

Hope I'm not too late to join this group.

I'm 43

Weight:  154 lbs (down from 168 at start of May)

Exercise:  Normally 90 mins a day but stopped following medical advice, will re-introduce gently on advice of doctor

Water: 2 - 3 litres per day
I feel so incredibly guilty - you gals work your tails off, really committed to exercise, and I can't seem to get that part of my plan together.  Someone needs to kick me in the rear!

I used to be a committed runner and thought I'd get back into it - so Wednesday I went out and ran almost 4 miles.  I had to run 1/2 mile and then walk a tenth - a good indication that I haven't done it for quite a while.  **Baby Steps...Baby Steps...don't get discouraged!**

Anyway, water isn't the problem.  I've been averaging 64 oz./day.
Wednesday and Thursday 40 oz of water each day.

No excerise on Wednesday, Thursday coached.

Finally cooled down here in Michigan. Hope to do better the next few days.
Thursday stats:
Weigh in day is Monday
Walking the dog : 45 minutes
Bicycling, light effort: 55 minutes
Water: 64 oz. (I've got a water bottle now!}

Going away for the weekend, so not sure I'll be able to post. Have a good weekend everyone. LauraAnn
Thursday for me:

Weight: (Weigh-in day is Saturday)

Water: 80 oz. (Whoo-Hoo!!  Almost drowned! :) )

Exercise: No workout--my lower back is pretty bad.  I did do some housework when I got home.

Water intake: about 80 oz. - I feel like I'm drinking water all the time :)

Exercise: 1 hour of heavy cleaning (think moving books around, there are alot of books!)  I should have done my pilates!  It was raining all day, so I didn't want to walk.

Mctami - Its great you are getting back into running.

Welcome - Pod.
Thursday........165.8, although I don't know how it went down, even that little bit. It's been a week.

I did drink 64oz. of the boring H2O.

No exercise but you will see when I post my stats for today that I got back on the proverbial horse, albeit C A R E F U L L Y!!!

Have a good weekend all........hey......how are we gonna handle 4th of July cookouts and such? I think I will take a diet holiday......what about y'all?
