WOMEN OVER 40 WEEKLY CHALLENGE

Quote  |  Reply
Ok, ladies from the women over 40's posting group, here's where we'll start. Everybody put your starting weight, how much water you drink on average per day, and how many minutes and or days per week you exercise and what that exercise is.

ADDED SECTION BELOW:

Then starting Tuesday June 26, post your weight (if you weigh daily, if not just state what day you weigh yourself), how much water you drank for Monday....and your minutes of exercise. BUT>>>>> keep track of it too...b/c on Monday I want you to also post a total for the week. The daily posts will tell the rest of us how much harder we have to work to beat each other, which will help motivate us!!!

(See Anybody wanna have a Women Over 40 group post to see what this is about) Link: http://www.calorie-count.com/calories/communi ty/forums.php?topic=41313&rewind=last& ;count=18#last

WE DESERVE TO BE SKINNY!!!

Tuesday Stats:

Weight: Monday is my weigh in day

Water: Gee, alot, over 70 oz.

Exercise: Walking the dog 45 minutes, Bike 62 minutes

A big milestone on the bike as I got my speed up to over 10 mph the whole time. The water is great now that summer is here. I have a beautiful big tumbler that I fill with crushed ice and sparkling water. It goes down a treat sitting outside on the patio.

Have a Happy 4th everyone, eat carrots and celery sticks, not chips!

Hi guys!  I've been off the computer this last week due to house guests, I think I mentioned that earlier.  I didn't step a foot on the treadmill because it was go, go, go the entire time.  Re. H2O, I DID actually drink a lot ever day.  We'd sit around the kitchen table talking in the morning and I'd put away a liter or more.  Although I've been eating cleanly, I'm afraid to get on the scale so if you all don't mind, I think I better wait for that particular joyful experience.  We've been doing walking every day and on Monday we probably did some very hard walking for 10 K.  My friend fell down a steep decline "donkey road" and scraped her knees pretty badly.  They both had to keep resting, the sun was too strong for their London complexions.  I hope everyone is doing fine, you guys have a good weekend!  Nancy
Good morning everyone

Thursday Stats:

Weight: On Monday :)

Water: 64 oz.

Exercise: Walking the dog 50 min., bicycling 70 minutes

I didn't feel like I drank enough water yesterday and I missed that. It has been so hot here I feel so dehydrated if I don't constantly have some water at hand.

Nice to have you back Nancy.
For Thursday:

Weigh-in day is Saturday

H20: 50 ozs.

Exercise:  45 mins. Yard work
Late for class as usual.

I think i posted monday's stats.

Tues I only got 1/2 my water in

Exercise:  Does running out the office door count?  If so, done.

weight day is Saturday.

Wednesday - 7/4

Water: Nope.  Drunken watermelon: Yep.

Exercise:  house work; leg lifts w/step stool & 2 yr old

Did not diet but did not overdo either.  Had the lighter versions of the menu and had 2 onion rings, 2 french fries, hand full of chips and a grilled chicken wrap.  I sampled all the food and drink I've been staying away from so I didn't feel deprived but didn't feel like a bloated whale either.

7/5/07

H2O: only 1/2 my water ( I really need to work on this) only 40 oz

Exercise: 4.1 miles on treadmill - varying speeds and inclines

but I don't think I met my calorie intake for the day.  Busy after the holiday at work and didn't have time to stop to think about eating.  Oh well, maybe it will even out the 4th for me.  I'll let ya know about Friday when it's done.  I'll be outta pocket for the weekend so have a good one.

Bonna:  We miss ya girl.  Our thoughts and prayers are with.

Bigg Huggzzzzzzz Ladybugs.  Chow.
Friday Stats:

Weight: On Monday

Water: 80 oz.

Exercise: Walking the dog 50 min., biking to work and back 1 hr.

I was wondering why biking to work was considered to be leisurely. Now I know, it is not so pleasant to get to work all stinky and sweaty. I'm glad I brought an extra top and took it easy.

Keep drinking the water everyone! We really need it on these hot summer days.
Friday:

H20:  50ozs.

Exercise: 45 mins. yard work

Saturday:

Weight: 160 (Yep, gained 2 lbs. Not surprising after that week.)

Water: 90 ozs.

Exercise: 65 mins. on the LifeFitness Total Body Trainer
Saturday Stats:

Weight: On Monday--so hoping not to be disappointed!

Exercise: Walking the dog, 45 min. Bicycling, 105 minutes

Water: 64 oz.

My pace on the bike is certainly not what I would like it to be. I really want to go at least 10 mph and even that is not fast enough. Pedal, pedal, pedal, push, push, push.
Sunday Stats:

Weight: (I weighed in today, Monday, at 125.5)

Exercise: Walking the dog, 55 min., Riding my bike, 90 minutes.

Water: 64 oz.

I haven't been drinking quite as much water yesterday and the day before. Maybe because the weather has cooled off a bit. I do need to replenish my supplies though, which is a good sign.
Sunday stats:

H20: 40 ozs.

Exercise: 25 mins swimming

(Weigh-in day = Saturday)
Since the posting of my last set of stats I did pretty much nothing to improve.    This covers from where I left off last posting thru Sunday:

Water:  Didn't (at least nothing to write home to mom about)

Exercise: only cleaning and chasing 2 year old

Weigh day - I didn't bother.

So today's monday - got my gym clothes in the car ready to go.  Wish me luck -- I seem to be in a bit of self destruct mode (and enjoying it....I'm one sick puppy)

Love,

DD

I'm back,  I drifted off for a while - but now I'm here.  My stats as of today.

Weight: 186.75 - down 1/2 lbs. from the start of the challenge.

Water intake Sunday: 80 oz.

EXERCISE:  Took a walk with dh and dog

I'd love to lose 1 more lb. before I leave on vacation on Wednesday.
Hi all!  Those of us still participating anyway?  I'm still too anxious to get on the scale but here's what I've got for yesterday

Monday

H2O 2 liters++

Exercise 30 minute dog walk, 1 hr treadmill walking while watching Sideways

... and now, to get on the old treadmill to finish the movie today :)
(Hope joining here helps me).  I didn't see an over 50 club or would have joined that, so I'm really over 40.

weight in April:   aprx 198

weight July 8, 2007 = 192

drink 8 glasses of water daily, always.  Recently started drinking green tea in evening as someone said it helps with weight loss.  Sometimes drink water with a dab of juice in it for variety.

exercise:  walking/jogging 10 miles a week.  3x a week, sit on floor and do leg lifts, or hand weight, for 5 minutes.  Putter around home, a couple of hours a day.  It's impossible to find things to do, no yard to mow, hard to keep active in an apartment.  For the most part I have the calories under control, just need the activity.  I do my activity in the morning when I have most energy.  Am trying to learn to go out in the evening for a stroll.........but its hard to get out the door then.............
Monday Stats:

Weigh in: 125.5

Water: 80 oz.

Exercise: Walk the dog 25 min., riding bike to work, and to the bank, 95 min.

The water is much easier these days, it seems like I'm always ready to drink some. I drink sparkling mostly, with a hint of flavour. The sweetened flavoured water is tooo sweet, but I mix it with plain sparkling.

I love riding my bike outside. Even though it is fairly hot now, I usually feel pretty cool on my bike because of the air. Stopping at traffic lights can be a pretty warm experience!

LauraAnn
For Monday:

H20:  Not so good...40 ozs.

Exercise: 60-minute weight train class

Weigh-in day = Saturday
I have been gone since the 4th on vacation. We came back sunday.  I did not excerise or drink much water.  Kind of embarrassing  that i did  not but I enjoyed myslef.   Did not watch what I ate either but i did not gain any weight.

Monday I drank 36 oz. of water- no exerise.  Hopefully I start doing better.
