women and shoes

It hit me that part of it (if not all) is true. Why is it that women have an obsession with shoes? Stands filled with them as if they were trophies. Out at parties they all look at each other and complement themselves on the pair being worn. I dont think any guys even look at the shoes girls are wearing.. they could be barefoot and we wouldnt notice. So why?

I think part of it has to do with the fact that shoes always fit and always look good.  You can have nice clothes, but if you gain 15 pounds they won't look as nice.  You can be a size 26 and still have cute feet.  Sometimes you have a bad hair day, or you look tired, or you just feel ugly, but the shoes always look good.  There is also a lot of variety in shoes, and somehow it seems a little "safer" to express yourself with a shoe than with, say, a wacky floral print blouse or something like that.

I LOVE shoes, but unfortunately for me I have gigantic feet, so even the cute ones don't look so cute on me   Keeps me from collecting a closet full though!

I hate shoe shopping. Its pointless. I dont understand it when women show off their racks of shoes like its a trophy case. My brother is more of a shoe person then I am. Pretty sad...

All my shoes are either in a mountain pile in the closet or still in their own shoe box, also in a pile.

I'd like a trophy rack for my bags though.

I love shoes!  I was a shoe model for 13 years in Dallas.  At that time I wore a 4.5.  Now I wear a 5.5 -easier to find, but when I modeled I got shoes for free! At one time I had 150 pair.    Now that I buy them I only have 50 or so.  I enjoy dressing up and love to have shoes to match my outfits.  I'm not going to apologize.  Some guys have a gazillion ties.

A few years back my mother-in-law literally had 200+ pairs of shoes.  Never understood it.  My mom, before she got sick had TONS also but she's a little older and followed the shoe "laws" like no open toe during fall/winter and something or other with no white after labor day so she'd have the exact same shoes in "cream" or "beige" that she had in white.  So it all seemed silly to me.

If I could wear most of them then sure I'd probably have a ton more then I do....but.... I've got really bad bunions thanks to surgery to correct minor ones and I end up in so much pain it's not something I put myself through.  If I have to wear shoes inside it's usually my flip flops.... other then that, not counting old work shoes (clogs and sketchers), maybe 5 pairs including my riding boots lol.

Socks.....those I have tons of.... patterns, colors, you name it!
