~shrug~ meh. it's an hourglass figure. i got lotsa sand.

ROFL!!!! So do I!

50/42/48

I just want to be ME, but healthy! If that means I don't have perfect proportions, oh well! My husband loves me anyway!

And I always heard it as 36-24-36 ...more specifically hips and bust the same, waist 12" smaller

What your boyfriend says is true, Shill.  Think about it.  Are the people you love the most the ones who always look perfect and who you always have to be perfect around?  Or are they the ones who trust you enough that they can be sloppy, or weird around.  The ones you can be yourself around, without having to fear being made fun of.  And becides, any percieved body imperfections probably aren't THAT bad, and we ALL have things we wish we could change at times.  But when anybody is comfortable enough to let his or her guard down around sombody, that person becomes so much more attractive because of the confidence.

i'm a 41-33-43, is that an hour glass figure? i'm pretty sure it is.

the reason i'm so curious is because my mom always tells me how i carry alot of weight in stomach, like my dad &aunt, both of which have diabetes. Sealed

Hey, I have blonde hair, freckless skin, and wear a size 7 shoe... does that make me perfect? ha

but seriously, what the tits does it matter what ratio or ideal measurements you are, as long as you are healthy and content with how you look... do you honestly think that when you go on a date, the guy whips out a tape measure to make sure that you are good enough... I HOPE NOT! (if so, you may want to question the men you date :P)

no, i was only asking health-wise. like i've heard your waist isnt supposed to exceed a certain amount...etc.etc.

i don't believe in perfection.

hehe, okay after seeing some of these posts, i see that you guys got me all wrong.

i was only asking what the ideal is for health, not BEAUTY-whatever that is.

I believe that for optimal health, women's waist size should be 32 inches or under, and men's should be 35 inches or under.
I think that 32" number is too general, and is mainly used for statistical purposes, ie women with waists under 32" have decreased risk of heart disease or diabetes, or whatever (don't quote me on that, I'm just trying to make a point).  While I'm not a huge fan of Dr. Oz or Oprah, he once said on her show that you should try to keep your waist under half of your height.  Ie, if you're 5'2 (62"), you should try to keep your waist under 31".  Again, these are just general guidelines.
ooo okay. i'm aiming for a 29-30 inch waist anyhow. so that my stomach doesnt protude so much. everytime i see it i think, "diabetes" so yea some inches have to go! : D
Could somebody please tell me what order they are in, I have always been confused about this.  What order are these in bust-stomach-waist? Or something different.

Yeah, bust-waist-hips. Like me:

Bust-36 in   Waist-25 in   Hips-36 in

Which gives me an almost "ideal" shape, but let me tell you, I am FAR from perfect.  Actually, this whole "perfect measurement" thing makes me feel like a barbie. And I already have blonde hair and blue eyes. I am 5'6", and I feel almost a little too curvy for my 15 year old self.

I love that saying! I'm so gonna use that! :D

It doesn't really matter about the "ideal" measurements because women are so different but for health reasons you should aim for the lowest waist to hip ratio you can to decrease your risk for diabetes, high blood pressure, heart attck, etc.

Also, who cares what someone else sees as ideal? If you love your body, that's all that really matters. I'm a 41-27-42 and I absolutely love my curves and to hell with anyone who thinks differently! lol

I'm 33-26-33. I'm only 5'1" and weigh 105 with a low BMI. I think that's on the average to thin side. My waist is small but I think my hips are too, I have a hard time carrying anything heavy on my hips b/c it slides right off. I actually want to appear to be more curvy without gaining weight.

A woman is at her perfect size when she smiles and reveals that her heart is big enough to accept wholeheartedly whoever she's with.

I like that ;) It's so true. I think the self loves comes with age. I may not like everything about myself but I truly do love who I am.

honestly, those measurements have been made up by men who think that's what an ideal women should look like.  The key word is ideal, most ideals can never be met.  while this one is attainable in some cases, in others it's not.  it's more important to make sure that you are a healthy weight rather than make sure that you look a certain way.  it's all preference, there really is no specific look.  if we were all supposed to look one way we would, but we don't so be happy with what you've got.

on a side note... i really made this account because as i was reading through this posting i noticed a lot of young girls (under 20) on this page and it really made me worried.  girls, please don't feel like you have to act, dress, or look a certain way.  it kills me to see girls your age posting your measurements and trying to conform to an ideal body image.  you girls are still growing.  you could be unhappy with how you look now, but you could also look amazing later, and it's too soon to tell now.  so please stop worring about how you look and go have fun while you can.  be active and quit hanging out on blog posts that you shouldn't be concerned with.

36-26.5-35.25 are the ideal measurements....cos that's what I am lol! Smile

Ain't nothing gonna change that unless I get some bones removed or widened, so I might as well accept and love it! And I choose to do just that. Life is far too short to get strung up on perfect numbers and sizes. We are only mere humans...perfection is an illusion...it does not exist. Why?...because we would never all agree on what was perfect anyway! Our differences make us unique and therefore special to others. What a boring world if we all looked the same or even wanted to look the same. Embrace the way you are meant to look. You have to be realistic...change what you can....accept what you can't.

As they saying goes "

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
